A family business rooted in Ábalos, dedicated for several generations to the cultivation of vines and the production and aging of its wines. The winery is harmoniously integrated with the beautiful landscapes and artistic monuments of Ábalos, Rioja Alta.
In Bodegas Solana de Ramírez we know that a good wine is born from a careful care of the vineyards. We cultivate 60 hectares of vineyards in the municipalities of Ábalos and San Vicente de la Sonsierra (Rioja Alta), located from north to south from the foot of the Sierra de Cantabria to the vicinity of the Ebro River.
The soil is calcareous clay, which together with the existing microclimate and influenced by the Cantabrian and Mediterranean air currents, make this area ideal for producing wines of excellent quality that you can taste in the visits and guided tastings that take place in the winery, which also has a large dining room, where you can taste the traditional cuisine of our land. Reservations are required.
At present, the winery facilities have been improved, combining new technologies with the most traditional and artisan way of making the great wines of Rioja. The grapes are harvested and selected by hand.
Subway and independent barrel and bottle cellars, with the natural conditions of constant temperature and humidity, necessary for a good aging of the wines. New American, French and Navarre oak barrels.
The annual production is 400 to 500 thousand bottles of red, white and rosé wine from the family farm.
The wines are elaborated with careful artisan care, being the result very natural, tasty wines with character.
