Zulal Areni Classic
Meaning pure in Armenian, Zulal was founded to craft wines that express the purest characteristics of Armenian indigenous grape varieties. Armenia's signature grape, Areni is a thick-skinned, late-ripening variety with medium tannin, medium to high acidity, and cherry and spice bouquet. This wine is dark ruby in color and demonstrates the aromas of red forest fruits on the nose. They are accompanied by plum and peppery notes on the palate giving way to nicely velvety tannins and a prolonged finish.

Zulal Voskehat Classic
Meaning pure in Armenian, Zulal was founded to craft wines that express the purest characteristics of Armenian indigenous grape varieties. Translating as "golden berry Voskehat is a late-ripening thick-skinned ancient grape variety. Voskehat is known for its complex stone fruity aromas and has been used for a wide range of wine types including dry white, sparkling, as well as dessert, and fortified wines. Pale golden yellow in color, Zulal Voskehat stands out with the aromas of tropical and stone fruits. The wine is crisp with complex layers of ripe fruit and flowers. The finish is long with a pleasing minerality.

Zulal Areni Reserve
Meaning pure in Armenian, Zulal was founded to craft wines that express the purest characteristics of Armenian indigenous grape varieties. With its Reserve collection, Zulal focuses on Armenia’s signature Areni and Voskehat grapes aging them in the local Caucasian oak barrels. Armenia's signature grape, Areni is a thick-skinned, late-ripening variety with medium tannin, medium to high acidity, and cherry and spice bouquet. This wine has an intense nose showing ripe red cherries and red currants on the nose with nuanced caramel and vanilla notes. The palate is pleasant with silky tannins, with a round mouthfeel and long finish.

About us
Company portrait
Zulal wines was founded by Aimee Keushguerian in 2017, introducing Zulal Areni Reserve 2015 and Zulal Voskehat 2017. The main grape varieties Areni and Voskehat are sourced from approximately 40 grape-growers in the villages of Aghavnadzor and Rind as well as the Arpa Valley in the Vayots Dzor region.
In addition to these, Zulal is also engaged in working with lesser-known grape varieties, such as Koghbeni and Jrjruk from Tavush, Nazeli, Movuz, Tozot, and Karmir Kot from Vayots Dzor, Sireni from Artsakh, and Kakhet from Artashat. These small lots of wine offer an exciting opportunity to explore rare indigenous grape varieties.
