MHATRICHHAT MHATNSHAT ROUGE

DESCRIPTION
Elegant, fresh and balanced, with supple tannins, our Maria Mansa red wine offers delicious red fruit notes, typical of wines from this region, in good harmony with more woody aromas. This balance makes this high quality Douro wine a round wine, easily accessible, ready to be consumed immediately.
CHARACTERISTICS OF THE VINTAGE
The year 2019 was characterized by a mild winter and a generally dry climate, with virtually no rain from May through the end of August. While producers across Europe have faced heat waves, and although we have enjoyed prolonged sunny weather, temperatures this summer in the Douro were fortunately lower than normal, allowing the vines to better withstand the absence of rain. In addition, the low humidity helped reduce disease pressure in the vineyard and encouraged the production of beautiful healthy grapes.
The harvest began on September 9 for the red grape varieties. They took place in ideal conditions, with moderate temperatures and an overall dry climate. Some welcome rains fell on September 21 and 22 and then between October 14 and 17.
Yields were slightly above our ten-year average and the musts showed freshness and beautiful natural acidity. After six weeks of picking, the harvest ended on October 18. The harvest period was long, but this is common in the Douro, where the diversity of grape varieties, exposure and altitude mean that each plot is harvested at different times. Although this diversity is a challenge for the technical team, it also brings an extraordinary richness that gives complexity and character to the wines of Quinta do Noval.
TASTING NOTE
Maria Mansa 2019 reveals an intense ruby color. It reveals young and lively aromas of red fruits and wild fruits, perfectly integrated with woody notes, giving it more complexity. On the palate, this wine has a structure and body that are both nicely balanced, with round and melted tannins. Its remarkable freshness gives it a long and seductive finish.

Carlos Agrellos, Technical Director

QUICHNTHAT DO NOVHATL RESERVHAT

DESCRIPTION
Very powerful and structured, it stands out for its finesse, that delicate side characteristic of the Quinta do Noval style. It comes from a rigorous selection of the best batches of different autochthonous grape varieties of our quinta. This wine is delicious from youth and ages well in the cellar.
An authentic wine from the Douro Valley.
CHARACTERISTICS OF THE VINTAGE
After a dry winter, the 2018 vintage was characterized by very cold temperatures and high rainfall until mid-summer, and a hot and dry end of summer. The bud break started late in good conditions.
After a prolonged summer period, the high temperatures and restrictive water conditions were optimal for the anthocyanin richness of the skins and ideal ripening of the grapes. The sanitary condition was excellent at the time of harvest.

The harvest took place from September 5 to October 13 with favorable climatic conditions, fairly high temperatures and no rainfall. The harvest produced high quality wines with good content of sugar, acidity and phenolic compounds.

All the wines produced this year are generally very good, even excellent.
TASTING NOTE
The coat is dense and opaque. The nose reveals intense aromas of blueberry and raspberry, followed by notes of toast and spices.
The palate reveals a touch of minerality associated with notes of dark chocolate from barrel aging. The tannins are well integrated. A finesse finish.
