Le Nez Imperium

The vineyards, where the Grenache and Syrah grapes used for this wine fl ourish, are situated in La Liviniére in Minervois and in Calce in Roussillon, both enjoying a Mediterranean climate. Pyros Limestone Hill Malbec

Since 2007,Pedernal Valleyhas been a Wine Geographical Indica-tion (G. I.), a unique and different place where Argentineanworld-class wines are created. Pedernal Valley is located southwest of the province, 90 km from the City of San Juan. The arable high lands of the valley go from 1,250 to1,500 m.a.s.l. The valley is protected by a natural barrier, the Pedernal hill. It is a confined valley isolated from natural pests and far fromcivilization, which creates unique conditions.

This wine is made with the best Malbec grapes from Limestone Hill plot planted on the slope of the Pedernal Hill within Pyros Vineyard, located at 1,400 m.a.s.l. The soil of this unique plot is composed of calcareous rocks, formed in a marine sedimentary environment more than 480 million years ago during the Ordovician period of the Paleozoic Age, and fine materials (sand, loam and small % of clay). It is a rich soil in mineral elements, with low organic matter content and with excellent water retention and distribution. Vines are drip irrigated with the purest water sourced 240 meters underground and originted by rains and snowmelt. This plot was planted in 2008 over virgin land and managed with friendly environmental practices (avoiding the use of pesticides and fertilizers) and precise viticulture to obtaining a naturally vineyard balance that fully express this unique and magnicent terroir.

It has a great aromatic intensity, oering red fruits, wild herbs and floral notes. This is a bold wine, with fine, silky tannins, refreshing acidity and minerality. A rifened Malbec, with several layers of flavor, complex and expressive with a long and lingering finish.

Pyros Special Blend

Since 2007,Pedernal Valleyhas been a Wine Geographical Indication (G. I.), a unique and different place where Argentinean world-class wines are created.

Pyros Special Blend is made with the best Malbec grapes from selected rows of vines at plot N°5 in our estate (soils with a high concentration of chalk and flint) located at the high area of Valle de Pedernal at 1,400 m.a.s.l., at a different, virgin and wild terroir. Irrigation is carried out using water from snowmelt and rains and the system used is drip irrigation. Grapes also come from rows of Syrah and Cabernet Sauvignon vines at the high area of Valle de Pedernal, from vineyards located at 1,350 m.a.s.l.,
where soils have a high calcareous content. Soils are poor, with a low content of organic matter but with excellent water retention and distribution. They show good drainage and low ground compaction. Vineyard age is: Malbec: 8 years / Syrah: 8 years / Cabernet Sauvignon: 18 years.

The color characteristics of this wine give evidence of great concentration. It is complex to the nose, with fresh fruit notes of Malbec, mingled with balsamic aromas of Syrah and the elegance of Cabernet Sauvignon. Wood notes contribute to its elegance and complexity. It is extremely well-balanced and lingering to the mouth. It stands out due to its complexity, without giving up that freshness typical of the wines from Valle de Pedernal.
