NICO LAZARIDI is widely recognized as one of the leading companies that have contributed most to the creation of a whole winemaking area in Drama – Northern Greece. The modern Château Nico Lazaridi Winery in the Agora area is the company's headquarters since 1997. The especially selected varieties of grapes cultivated here, on the 650 acres of vineyards, are converted into wines certified with the indication of the Protected Geographical Indications Drama and Agora: the families of Perpetuus, Magic Mountain, Cavalieri Lazaridi, Château Nico Lazaridi, the red dry wine F-eὖ, the naturally sweet Melissourgos and the white semi sparkling Solitaire. The Makedon winery was founded in 2000 at the municipal district of Platanotopos, on the outskirts of Mount Paggaion. The aim was to use to good advantage the products of the Macedonian land and to create modern quality wines. The produced wines have the Protected Geographical Indication Paggaio and Macedonia: the wine families Black Sheep, Golden Lion, Queen and King of Hearts. Nico Lazaridi Winery's president, Federico Lazaridis, in a pioneering move for the Greek wine standards, came up with the concept of the "Magic Mountain", a wine whose labels serve as a “display” to visual artists. He created the “Magic Mountain Gallery”, the “Nico Lazaridi Wine Club” and initiated the opening of Nico Lazaridi to new top-quality products: the VOREAS spirits, THE WISE OWL olive oil and handmade KRITSOINO bread sticks. NICO LAZARIDI currently produces more than 1,100,000 wine bottles a year and exports its products to 21 countries around the world.
