AOP VACQUEYRAS - "Pince Lapin" red 2015

91 - WINE ENTHUSIAST
John LIVINGSTONE  * * * (*) : red, clear robe. The nose rustles up raspberry fruit, with a rose perfume top note, a little darkness. The palate is charged, compact, fuelled by redcurrant, red cherry fruits with snappy tannins. It can fuse and amplify over time, has substance. […] It has a muscled, close-knit close, with oak sealing it as well.

1 star - Guide Hachette 2020  -  16/20 JANCIS ROBINSON

AOP VACQUEYRAS - "Castillon" white 2017

90-92 Robert PARKER  -  92-94 Jeb DUNNUCK  -  90 VINOUS
Joe CZERWINSKI – Wine Advocate : The wine remains one of the top white offerings from Vacqueyras, offering sexy aromas of honey and grilled pineapple. It's medium to full-bodied, plump and round in the mouth, but it has ample citrus zest and bright acids on the finish for balance and length.

"AURA" range - IGP Vaucluse white & red 2018 - the expertise of the vines added into a bottle

WHITE : The grapes are harvested mid-september in the early morning in order to conserve thr freshness of the berries. The fermentation takes place at low temperature then the wine is put in new barrels. Aged in oak on fine lees with stirring to give the wine it's roundness and it's particularity.

RED : Those grape varieties, which have different maturity dates, are vinified separately then blended before being aged in tanks at least one year, to allow the wine to find its balance between structure and tannins.

"Soif de Liberté" range - IGP Vaucluse white, red & rosé - the pleasant wines to share with friends

WHITE : Harvested in late August, early in the morning to keep their freshness, the grapes are pressed immediately. The result is traditional cold settling with regular mud suspension, allowing the Sauvignon to release all its aromas. Fermentation takes place at low temperature.

RED : The grapes are harvested late September. Traditional vinification with two daily pumping over. The wine is then aged in tank for three months on the lees before bottling to soften tannins.

ROSE : The harvest takes place by night to conserve the prapes freshness in order to control the colour when pressuring and to prepare the fermentation at low temperature (15/17°).

About us

Company details

The Fontaine du Clos domain is an independent family winery located in the south of Rhône Valley, between Avignon and Mont Ventoux. We produce 3 AOP: Côtes du Rhône, Vacqueyras and IGP Vaucluse. Our main particularity, is that we are also a vine nursery (the second in Europe). The two activities allow us to have a good expertise and understanding of the vine to develop a very complete range of quality and innovative wines.

The vineyard of 90 hectares is planted with 40 different grape vines and allow us to produce 14 cuvées : 6 red, 6 white and 2 rosé. Evermore, we own rewards from the classical american press : Wine Enthusiast, Wine Advocate, Decanter, Jeb Dunnuck, etc…
