Domaine du Camp Revès

The wine
Unusually for a co-operative, we are able to offer an estate-specific wine. Fruit harvested by Mr Faure from his estate is kept separate from the rest of the grapes, from collection to vinification. The estate is situated on the same terroir as Châteauneuf du Pape, 8 kilometres from the cellars, and features a distinctive layer of pebbles around the vines. This feature gives a particular character and warmth to the wines. The first vintage bottled was 1996 (red); at this point, part of the vineyard was granted the Côtes du Rhône Villages designation. In provençal, camp-revès means "the field on the other side"; the estate is thus named due to its location on the furthest outskirts of the village, jutting into the territory of neighbouring villages.

Terroir
Quartz pebbles.

Vinification
Traditional vinification with long maceration.

Château Grand Dignitaire Gadagne

The wine
At the western wing of the Palais des Papes, a door set in the seventeenth century penetrate directly into the wing of the Great Dignitaries. A contemporary staircase leads up to the terrace, offering a breathtaking panorama of the area. Château Grand Dignitaire is the southernmost winery of the left bank of the Rhone river. The basement is made of clay and limestone and has the particularity of being covered with boulders deposited there millions of years ago by the Rhone, remnants of the old bed river. This exceptional terroir is also swept by the mistral that blows strong there, and thus reduces the treatment of vines. This microclimate allows a very integrated viticulture.

Terroir

Vinification

Réserve des Armoiries Comte de Galléan

The wine
The GALLEAN-GADAGNE descend from the Galliani family in Piedmont, and from the Guadagni from Florence. In 1598 Georges de Gallean married Louise de Gadagne. They had ten children, including Charles Felix. He had a distinguished military career and was appointed Lieutenant by Louis XIV. He acquired in 1668 the soil of Chateauneuf-de-Giraud-Amic. Then Pope Clement IX, in recognition of services rendered to the Holy See, raised this earth in duchy. The pope decided to name it "Duchy of Gadagne". Thus Count de Gallean became Duke of Gadagne and the village of Châteauneuf-de-Giraud-Amic
became Châteauneuf-de-Gadagne. Family DE GALARD allowed us in 2009 to use the name "Comte de Gallean" on one of our main Cuvee.

Terroir

Domaine du Camp Revès Rouge - Professional range

The wine
It is original to offer a Domain wine in a cooperative. The crop of Mr Faure's domain is isolated from the overall harvest of the cellar. It is received and vinified separately. The pebbles on more than one meter deep lend character and warmth to the wine produced. The first vintage bottled was the 1996 red, when a part of our vineyard got the Côtes du Rhône Villages appellation. In Provence, the term "Camp Reves" means "field on the other side." This name was given to the area as it is located on the farthest part of the town and is an arm of land that juts into the territories of neighboring villages.

This cuvée takes its name from the porte Saint Roch, one of the gates in the ramparts of Avignon. Also known as the porte des vins, it provides access to the countryside surrounding the city. About us

Company details

Demazet Vignobles is the result of the union between the Terres d’Avignon cellars in Morières-Lès-Avignon and the Canteperdrix cellars in Mazan, combining the best features of both houses, key players in the area between the Rhône valley and the Mont Ventoux. The “mazet” is a Provençal term for a small house, characteristic of our region; the “Demazet” name reflects the marriage of the two houses, or “deux mazets”.

The two cellars joined together to become “Demazet Vignobles” on 1st July 2015, reflecting our shared values and deep-rooted commitment to quality.

– 245 growers
