Cuvée Marie 2015, Châteauneuf-du-Pape red

Cuvée Marie is the result of a search to find a better balance between a fifty-year-old grenache variety and with both syrah and mourvèdre.
The diverse terroirs used and the conscientious and reasoned work done on the vines (some of which are over half a century old) gives Cuvée Marie an intense taste and a delicate texture. There are only 10.500 bottle of this micro-production, aged in demi-muid oak barrels.
A chocolate and lightly spicy aroma. An elegant wine with nice freshness and a dynamic structure when in the mouth, were Grenache dominates but is supported by Syrah and Mourvèdre. Mature wine, spicy without relying on alcohol, light aromas of black fruit and pepper. Mellow tannins give Cuvée Marie its soft and voluptuous character.
2015 vintage: 17,5/20 mark by Jancis Robinson et 16/20 mark by Olivier Poussier, world’s best sommelier for 2000.

Cuvée Thaïs 2016, Châteauneuf-du-Pape white

Cuvée Thaïs is the first white vintage from Domaine Georges-Lombrière, and a rare breed as white wines only represent 10% of the Châteauneuf-du-Pape designation and 6% of the domain’s production. Cuvée Thaïs is Domaine Georges-Lombrière’s interpretation of a white Châteauneuf-du-Pape. A subtle and balanced combination of roussane and white Grenache, Cuvée Thaïs is a quintessential expression of the terroir as it lets itself be discovered through a throughout and reasoned work on the vines. The result of a rigorous selection of only the best white grapes on the Domain, there are only 1.000 bottles, all number, for this exceptional micro-cuvée.

Expressive aroma of coffee, honeysuckle and white flowers, with a powerful, intense and full mouth.
Vintage 2016 : 18/20 Revue des vins de France.

About us

Company details

A certain idea of a Châteauneuf-du-Pape

For us, winemaking is first and foremost about making the best grape possible, we try to keep our grape’s identity after it has been harvested.  This means that a great amount of attention is given to our vines, through regular work on the soil and mechanical weeding.

From 2017 onwards, the entire vineyard is undergoing conversion to « organic farming”. A label which will formally recognize a form of production which has been in fact used on the Domaine since its beginning.

From the start of the Domaine we have called on the expertise of Claude and Lydia Bourguignon to fully understand the composition of our soil.

Our grapes are entirely hand-harvested and our semi-buried tanks allow us to move the grapes using only gravity. This allow to not push our grapes too hardly, from harvesting to ageing.

In our cellars, soft extractions allow for the fruit’s nature to be preserved as well as its strength in flavor. As a follow-up to this approach, aging operations are only carried out in large containers. The barrel’s wood emphasizes the fruit’s expression without ever dominating it. The specific identity of our terroir then meets the fruitiness of grenache, backed by Syrah and Mourvèdre. When bottling, our wine is very slightly filtered, so as to not alter its finesse and subtlety.
