Rise to 2 stars in the 2020 edition of the reputable Vinum Weinguide

"The 2018 vintage of Weingut Rinke is clearly the strongest we have ever tasted from this wine estate. This holds true for the wines from the Saar as well as for the wines from the upper Mosel."

We are rated as "very good producer" by the reputable German wine guide "Eichelmann"

We have been rated as "very good producer" by the reputable German wine guide "Eichelmann".
"In the last years Weingut Rinke has made its name with stand-alone wines of disinct taste. This is true for the Riesling wines, but also for the Pinot Noir wines, as well as for the "field blend" wines from the Brüderberg."

About us

Company details

Our wine estate was founded in 2006 - and we started wine making as career changers in 2010. It all started with a forgotten Grand Cru vineyard of 3 hectares close to the Luxembourg border, behind Trier/ Mosel, which we re-cultivated with burgundy Chardonnay clones and other burgundy varieties in 2006. The different vine varieties are grown in random order and harvested and fermented together ("field blend"). We were the first to re-introduce the "field blend" method which was widely known in the 19th century at the Mosel.

At the Saar we are cultivating mainly Riesling, but also Pinot Noir and the very rare Pinot Noir Précoce (Pinot Madeleine). Our Riesling vines are almost all old vines with an average age of 55 years. We own single sites in the Oberemmeler Altenberg, Wiltinger Klosterberg and Wilinger Braunfels, all rated as Grand Crus sites in the 19th century.

Our wine making style follows the low intervention principle. Our
wines are spontaneously fermented, we do not use additives such as encymes, protein stabilizers or clarifiers. All our wines are vegan. Wine critics consider us as one of the outstanding new wineries in Germany.
Our wines are kept on the lees for a long time and often need time to further develop when being bottled. In the vineyard we also work close-to-nature, without using pesticides.
