This wine is of an attractive, sustained and limpid purple colour, with aromas of ripe red fruit. It is concentrated and creamy to the palate with lightened tannins of good length.

Matured in barrels of French oak for 12 months.
This wine contains Malbec with aromas of red fruits and black currant and notes of vanilla. It benefits from supple tannins and a generous finish : a good balance.

About us

Company details

The residence – which is said, belonged to the Knights Templar – was reorganised in the 17th and 18th centuries and now bears the name of its former occupants.

Catherine and Dominique Guffond took ownership of Chateau Le Sèpe, a 23 hectare vineyard near Saint Emilion, at the beginning of 2009. In the years preceding this, they completed training in viticulture and oenology, and spent one year training at Chateau Ferrière, a classified Margaux vintage.

Their approach is environmentally friendly and aims at protecting Chateau Le Sèpe’s terroir. Their goal is to reduce the established use of phytosanitary products and to continue to improve the quality of the domain’s wines.

The efforts of the team and the expert support of JF Rontein, the vineyard’s oenologist, have led Chateau Le Sèpe to receive a gold medal with its first ever vintage, the 2009 (2010 Wines Bordeaux competition). Chateau Le Sèpe has since achieved further success, wining several medals for each vintage, including Gold medals for the Bordeaux, Lyon, Brussels and Beaune (Féminalise) competitions, Decanter.

The wines can be tasted at the domain all year round.

Chateau Le Sèpe’s visitors can also decide to enjoy a peaceful retreat in one of the two comfortable guest rooms – both offering a panorama on the vineyard – and to get acquainted with the pleasure of wine tasting.
