CHATEAU LE PRIEUR: Entre-Deux-Mers AOC (White); Bordeaux AOC (Red); Crémant de Bordeaux AOC (white and Rose)

The Garzaro family bought the Château LE PRIEUR estate at the beginning of the 20th century. It is located along the chalky clay hills on which the vines flourish.
Today, Pierre-Etienne et Jean-David Garzaro manages the 70 hectares of vines at Baron in the Entre-Deux Mers area, along with 10 more hectares that are scattered among the most prestigious libourne appellations : Pomerol, Saint Emilion Grand Cru and Saint Emilion.
Garzaro red wines thus benefit from four generations of experience. They are harmoniously blended from the Bordeaux noble varieties : Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon and aged in the purest Bordeaux tradition.
Garzaro white wines are blended from the Bordeaux varieties : Sauvignon, Semillon and Muscadelle.
Finally, the Garzaro Crémant brings successes to make your celebrations bubble with joy.
All these wines regularly win prizes at different national and international competitions and feature in the selections of the trade guidebooks.

About us

Company details

Vignobles Garzaro has four generations of expertise, has perfect growing conditions and has a careful balance of tradition. This is what makes Vignobles Garzaro at Chateau le Prieur notable among Bordeaux wineries. Originally this modest chateau was a part of the Abbaye de la Sauve where the monks retreated to meditate. Today this charming estate is a gem of the Aquitaine region.
Brothers Pierre-Etienne and Jean-David Garzaro, who manage the winery, firmly believe in respect for the terroir and what it brings to the production. The Garzaros focus their efforts on making the vines able to resist disease, and to employing sustainable methods. Moreover, no chemicals used on the vineyards. As further proof of that commitment the winery also holds a certificate for sustainable agriculture.
With first-rate reds, whites and rosés, even a sparkling crémant, the output of the Garzaro family’s 70 hectares are certainly diverse. There are 10 hectares in the celebrated Pomerol, Saint-Emilion Grand Cru, and Saint-Emilion appellations. While the remaining is in Baron, 20 kilometres from Bordeaux, are in the Entre Deux Mers appellation.
On rich clay-limestone soil, Cabernet Franc, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon–the classic grapes for Bordeaux reds–are grown, and for their white wines, the Gazaros grow Muscadelle, Sémillon and Sauvignon vines.  Standing out are the lightly oaked Saint-Emilion grand cru, and the Cremant de Bordeaux made from Sémillon grapes.
All these wines regularly win prizes at different national and international competitions and feature in the selections of the trade guidebooks.
Today, we try to make wine that blend together the charm, the fruit, the aromas and the elegance with the best value for money.
We pay attention to our customers needs to make them discovered a new charm, elaborated by a new generation of owners.
