Costeval - Coteaux d'Aix en Provence - Rosé
In the local patois COSTEVAL means between hill and valley. Its origins refer both to the unique terroir and the river that contribute to forge its identity.
The Rhône valley has always been a privileged passageway between the Mediterranean region and Northern Europe. In the 8th Century upon returning from the Albigeois crusades, some of the Knights chose the hillsides of the Rhône Valley to grow vines. In the 14th century, the popes – keen connoisseurs of wine – took up residence in Avignon. They proved to be enthusiastic advocates of the wines produced in the region. The quality and reputation of the Côtes du Rhône wines was solidly established. Over the centuries, the reputation of Rhone valley vineyards continued to expand.
The typical nature of the terroirs (composed of a mix of granite, sandy silica, limestone and clay etc,) associated with the varied and unique climate, confer to the wines a complex aromatic and gustative palette that is most appreciated by wine connoisseurs.
Rigorously monitored, selected and sourced by our expert oenologist from our partner winegrowers, the wines that compose the COSTEVAL blend create a Côtes du Rhône product that is authentic, boasting constant quality whilst preserving the specificity of each of the individual vintages.
