Everything we do is born of Marlborough. Were committed to this place, the work we do and our people. A talented bunch with just a little pioneering rebel running in our veins, a sort of what you see is what you get. Theres no pretence, nothing flashy, just us and what we need to make wines that we like to drink and share.
Believing something good can always be better, we work hard to continuously improve every aspect of what we do. Experimenting with inter-row planting, encouraging wild yeast ferments (instead of always using cultured yeasts) and trying vegan-friendly ways of fining our wines are just a few examples. This is much more interesting to us than jumping into the next big thing. And we didnt start talking about sustainability just last month. Doing the right thing has steered us for nearly 30 years - not only through the Sustainable Winegrowing New Zealand certification, but the tough ISO 14001 voluntary certification as well, helping us to make the best decisions for our vineyards, our wine, our people and the environment.
If we do what we do well - grow healthy vines in proven locations with down-to-earth people working closely together, the awards will come. And they have, along with a reputation for making truly enjoyable, expressive wines reflecting their variety and the place they were grown.
Mike Press Wines, located in the internationally acclaimed wine region of the Adelaide Hills in South Australia, sets the benchmark for quality wine at an outstanding price. With a string of awards, the secret to its success lies in a nurtured vineyard, more than four decades of experience, and a commitment to the consumer.
Mike Press started his career with the best, working alongside Max Schubert at Penfolds before moving to Seppelts, and as chief winemaker for Mildara Bass, before planting his vineyard in 1998 to focus on growing quality grapes to on-sell. Boasting 85 acres of scenic beauty, Kenton Valley Vineyards, was chosen because of its cool climate, its altitude of 500 metres above sea level, and its rainfall, which is similar to Bordeaux in France. With a staunch belief that good quality wine comes from a good vineyard, and a hands on approach, Mike is personally involved in every stage of the winemaking - from working the vineyard to bottling and even delivering the wines around South Australia.
James Halliday, Australias leading voice on wine says of Mike Press Wines: “Ive decided to give this winery five stars because there is no other producer offering estate-grown and made wines at prices to compete with these.”

Paulett Wines is the classic family owned and run winery. The winery was started by Neil Paulett back in 1983. After working for larger corporates, Neil thought it was time to start his own brand and Paulett Wines was founded. Bringing his expertise working for larger corporates including a stint with Penfolds making the now famous Grange, Neil went about building his reputation as one of the best Riesling makers in the world. Settling in the Clare Valley the winery has now been around for over 35 years and they still love what they do. The constant growth in quality wines and distribution has taken the brand into more than a family business. It is now a multi generational company with big ambitions
Paulett Wines is an internationally acclaimed, and award winning winery, including Best Riesling in the World at the Canberra International Riesling Challenge and also Clare Valley Winery of the Year in the Asian International Wine Competition.
Paulett Wines distribution covers Australia, China, United Kingdom, Finland, Sweden, Germany, New Zealand.
Jane and Peter Thompson purchased the Thompson Estate property in 1994, and the first plantings of chardonnay and pinot were in 1997, followed by the cabernet plantings in 1998. New plantings include new Burgundian clones of chardonnay, a total of 20 hectares under vine.
From the outset at Thompson Estate, the focus has been on high quality wine production and this has been recognized in a large number of wine show medals and accolades from the wine press. The most treasured has been the recognition by James Halliday, Australias premier wine critic, that Thompson Estate is a Five Red Star winery, placing it in the top echelon of Australian wineries.
The vineyard gains unique advantages from its Wilyabrup location. John Gladstones seminal work in the 1960s showed that Margaret River had climatic features similar to the great years of Bordeaux. His predictions have been borne out and the Margaret River region is now recognized as one of the premium wine grape growing areas in the world. Wilyabrup has been identified on detailed meteorological studies to be an ideal location for the production of high quality wine.
Wilyabrup has the ideal number of sun exposure days per year for optimal ripening and is surrounded by sea on three sides on the South West cape of Western Australia, allowing the cooling maritime breezes to keep the fruit cool and add intensity of flavours similar to the great years of the Bordeaux region of France. Thompson Estate and its immediate neighbours in Wilyabrup produce some of Australias “icon status” chardonnays and cabernets.

Elysian Springs is a 200-acre estate located in the pristine northern end of the Adelaide Hills district, bordering the Eden Valley. It is the birthplace of the River Torrens, the fresh water tributary key to the establishment of the capital of South Australia, the city of Adelaide.
The property started its journey when established by the Seppelt family back in 1980 when it was planted to Syrah, Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. Today, the journey continues where we endeavour to use sustainable viticulture along with biodynamic and organic techniques to produce wines with a true sense of place. Our passion for the land and all things vinous are what drive us to produce wines and food that best represent the beautiful part of this land we are custodians of.
