With more than 120 harvests, Bodega Norton is one of Argentina's leading wineries with the greatest expertise. The winery was founded in Mendoza, Argentina, at the foot of the Andes Mountains in 1895 by European engineer, Edmund James Palmer Norton, with vines imported from France. In 1989 it was acquired by Austrian businessman, Gernot Langes-Swarovski, and since 1999 the company is guided by his son, Michael Halstrick, inspired by a family vision and spirit.
Located just south of the Mendoza River, Bodega Norton maintains five estates in the heart of the so called "Premium Winemaking Area” known as Lujan de Cuyo. The unique terroir of the region offers a combination of dry soil and cold air from the mountains that results in red and white grapes, aromatic and concentrated, perfect for making bold and elegant high-end wines produced from vineyards that are between 30 and 90 years old.
The awarded-wines are available in more than 60 countries all over the world, some of the most renowned brands are: Gernot Langes, Lote, Privada Family Blend, Lote Negro, Reserva, Norton Malbec D.O.C., Barrel Select, Cosecha Tardía, Norton Colección, 1895 Wines; and the sparkling wines: Norton Sparkling and Cosecha Especial.
The winemaking team is led by Winemaker David Bonomi, a native Argentinian recognized as one of “South Americas Top 10 Winemakers” by Decanter magazine; and one of the “Top 10 Young Argentinean Winemakers to Watch” by The Drinks Business magazine.
The excellence tasted in Bodega Nortons wines is the result of a deep rooted family spirit, excellent management of vineyards, treasured employees, a corporate responsibility to safeguard Argentinas natural resources, and respect for the traditional winemaking process, which creates the most pleasant and enjoyable wines.
More than a name, Bodega Norton is an immortal signature that connects history with terroir, talent with passion.
