BAROLO DOCG COSTE DI ROSE 2015

DESCRIPTION: In 2015, we had the chance to rent a new vineyard, Coste di Rose, in Comune di Barolo. It is gorgeously located on the top of the MGA, at 310m asl.
The deal included a significant portion of Bosco della Fava, the forest that can be admired from the castle of Barolo. Coste di Rose is a very unique vineyard. Soil is dominated by a pure Arenaria di Diano, a Tortonian sandstone that delivers distinctive floral aromatics and a salty minerality. This cru is one of Barolo’s bestkept secrets, being located right in between Cannubi and Bussia, yet away from the beaten paths.

BARBERA D’ALBA DOC SUPERIORE 2016

DESCRIPTION: Our Barbera d’Alba Superiore comes mostly from the oldest Barbera vines planted by our great-grandfather Carlo (Carlin) Vaira in 1949.
Strained, deeply rooted plants produce the most tasteful berries for a wine of energy, intensity and elegance at the same time. A Barbera full of personality that will surprise you over the years thanks to its incredible aging potential.

BAROLO DOCG BRICCO DELLE VIOLE 2015

DESCRIPTION: Among the historical vineyards of Barolo, Bricco delle Viole is the highest and the closest to the Alps. It rises from 400 to 480 meters above the sea level, on the Western ridge of the village. Its name, “Hill of Violets”, originates by the flowers that here blossom early due to the perfect south exposure. Up above the fogs, Bricco delle Viole enjoys the earliest sunrise and the last sunset every day.
Thanks to its vines dating back to 1949, a dramatic diuturnal temperature range and this pure light, Bricco delle Viole generates a sophisticated and profound Barolo of bright aromatics, chiselled tannins and subtle minerality.

BAROLO DOCG RAVERA 2015

DESCRIPTION: Ravera is the most important single vineyard in Comune di Novello, located on the south-west quadrant of the Barolo area. This site has a very complex underground where marls of Tortonian origin mix with clays and sandstones of the Serravallian period. Our parcels are located in the most southern amphitheater, between 320 and 340 meters asl. This is a terroir that delivers bright aromatics and unrestrained power. 2015 is beautifully textured and rich.

DOLCETTO D'ALBA DOC COSTE&FOSSATI® 2017

DESCRIPTION: Coste&Fossati is a collection of ancient Dolcetto biotypes grouped by Aldo Vaira between 1979 and 1985. Cuttings were grafted in two of the estate best Barolo vineyards, Coste di Vergne and Fossati. These plants with a ‘red stalk’ create a limited production of the most intense and noble Dolcetto.
This is our family’s own reservoir. 2017 is a vintage of charme and personality, with an incredible depth and texture.

DOLCETTO D'ALBA DOC 2018

DESCRIPTION: Historically, Dolcetto was cultivated in prime land, just above Nebbiolo vineyards. At Vajra, we remain loyal to this approach, farming this grape in places of true vocation. Our Dolcetto is a homage to a wonderful, often overlooked heritage of Piemonte. It is a pure, vibrant and fruity expression of the variety, ideal for many food pairings from appetizers to pastas and vegetables and light protein such as white meats and egg-based dishes.
