About us

Company details

De Vinosalvo is a small vintner the heart of the Tuscan Maremma region. They produce great Mediterranean-style red wines from Shiraz and Sangiovese grapes that are grown sustainably in their own vineyards. The winery is owned and managed by the Australian winemaker Alison Jane Hodder and her husband Claudio Berlingieri, and their wines owe their character to a blend of Tuscan tradition and antipodean innovation, aided by the extraordinary microclimate of the Monte Amiata foothills.

The range of small-batch wines produced includes two pure Shiraz varietals, one pure Sangiovese and one co-fermented blend of Sangiovese and Shiraz. Varietal expression and elegance of structure are hallmarks of Alison's winemaking style, and as a deliberate choice wood-aging is practised sparingly, with only the top-of-range Shiraz selection (Galfridus) undergoing 12 months aging in French oak puncheons.

The current release range comprises wines from the 2015 (Classic Collection) and 2014 (Selezione del Saggio) vintages, all of which have gained high accolades and third-party endorsements both in Italy and internationally. The wines are exported already to high-end importer-distributer-retailers in  Australia, Hong Kong and China. The company is now looking for partners to expand export markets.
