VINEYARDS AND VINIFICATION
Grapes from various quality vineyards from Estreito de Câmara de Lobos and São Vicente were used.
Grapes were pressed in a pneumatic press. Arresting of fermentation takes place at the desired degree of sweetness by adding vinic alcohol (96%).

MATURATION & BOTTLING
This wine achieves its unique characteristics by the estufagem process. It is then matured in oak casks for up to 3 years before blended and bottled.

SERVING & CELLARAGE
Best serve between 11oC and low room temperature, 12oC, or if you wish with some ice. It should be kept in a cool dry place. This wine was filtered and does not require decanting. It was bottled ready for drinking and will keep well several months after opening.

TASTING NOTES AND HARMONIES
Very deep chocolate colour. Notes of raisins, hazelnuts, molasses and caramel.
Full, good texture, soft and a bit of sweetness in the aftertaste.
Excellent as an aperitif, consommé, tapas and cheese.

VINEYARDS AND VINIFICATION
Grapes from various quality vineyards from São Vicente and Jardim da Serra were used. Grapes were pressed in a pneumatic press. Arresting of fermentation takes place at the desired degree of sweetness by adding vinic alcohol (96%).

MATURATION & BOTTLING
Tinta Negra and Sercial aged in French oak casks during 5 years by the Canteiro method. For this blend we selected wines from our warehouses with stable temperatures year round that originate a very well balanced wine in sugar and acidity.

Total sugar: 46,4 g/l
Volatile Acidity: 0,39 pH: 3,52

SERVING & CELLARAGE
This wine was naturally aged in casks and bottled in its purest state. To show it at its best serve between 11oC and 12oC and should be kept in a cool dry place. MATURATION & BOTTLING
Verdelho aged in French oak casks for over 10 years by Canteiro method. For this blend we selected wines from our warehouses with stable temperatures year round that originate wines very well balanced in sugar and acidity.

SERVING & CELLARAGE

TASTING NOTES AND HARMONIES
Bright, light gold colour. Citrus notes, floral and honey. Soft in texture, well balanced and persistent.
Excellent as an aperitif, consommé, smoked salmon, dried ham, pates or spaghetti with clams and orange.

About us

Company details

Vinhos Barbeito was founded in 1946 by Mário Barbeito de Vasconcelos and has since then always been run by members of our family.

At the time of Barbeito’s foundation over 30 other Madeira Wine exporters were operating in the business. Little by little, Mário Barbeito gained clients in many parts of the world, always trying to build a good and close relationship with them. Some of our actual clients and suppliers are still from his time.

Mário Barbeito passed away in 1985 and his daughter Manuela de Vasconcelos, took over the general management of Vinhos Barbeito. She was already working for the company since 1976.

One of Manuela Vasconcelos most important tasks was to continue her father’s work of strenghthening relationships with customers and promoting our wines at prestigious wine fairs around the world. This policy is still maintained to this day.
