In 1971 at the age of 18 Walter Nardin entered the company on his fathers death and joined his uncle on a mission to make the wine from the Piave DOC area, later adding the Lison Pramaggiore area, renowned in Italy and abroad, applying all the methods and knowledge handed down from grandpa Vittorio, combining the farming culture of the past with todays modern technologies.
Approximately ten years ago Walter Nardin used the know-how acquired in the family business to found the Azienda Agricola Walter Nardin so that he could continue in a family-run enterprise where there was no rush to “produce more and more at all costs”, but he could meditate on how to achieve quality and obtain a product that would appeal to the local bar, refined wine boutiques and sophisticated restaurants alike.
Today Walter Nardin, with his wife Mirella and two sons Michele and Luca, grow vines and transform grapes into wine in a modern, well-equipped winery, without losing sight of the lifeline linking them to his grandfathers activities at the beginning of last century. Some of their vineyards are situated at Roncadelle, in the Piave D.O.C. area which produces classical white wines renowned for their fragrance and harmony, and red wines distinguished by their full-bodied personality. The other vineyards are in the Lison-Pramaggiore D.O.C. area where the soil and micro climate produce wines featuring particular scents and aromas.
