Piemonte Albarossa DOC Montald

“The vineyard of Albarossa… expands across a large amphitheatre shaped basin. I tried to depict it as flat, then with more prospective, but the result was evocative of… a Greek amphitheatre, more than a vineyard. I reduced the red… then I began to destroy the amphitheatre, designing it increasingly reduced parcels, insecure and irregular, until it became just a memory. It was what we wanted”.

Gavi del Comune di Gavi DOCG Rovereto

Rovereto is one of the very few historic Crus of Gavi and “its toponym may derive from the presence of ancient oak forests whose leaves have and unmistakeable shape and the clay soil is rich in iron. This fitted in well with our preference for the leaves and, with our orange period, it brought to mind autumn, the woods, picking mushrooms while rummaging with the tip of the stick, between just fallen leaves and other old ones”.
