Langhe Nebbiolo

Only Nebbiolo grapes grown on the Bricco di Neive hill are used in making this wine. It matures for 12 months in 30-hl Slavonian oak casks, with the precise aim of preserving an aromatic core that shows on the nose in sensations of plum, dark berries and sweet spices. Mouthfilling, fruity and tight.

Elegant tannins. For those who love tradition, it goes well with Langa dishes such as thinly-cut tajarin pasta with a rabbit sauce. For the more adventurous it makes a good pairing with scorpion fish poached in a flavourful broth. More cosmopolitan gourmets will find it makes a perfect match for many Mexican dishes.

Barbaresco Riserva BRICCO DI NEIVE

Old vineyards planted on clayey, calcareous soil. The first 24 months of maturing – mostly in big Slavonian oak casks with a small lot in small barrels made of French oak – are followed by a further 12 months in large casks, giving a total of three years of ageing. An additional 18 months in the bottle make it earn the ‘reserve’ label. This
is the Barbaresco Bricco di Neive Riserva recipe according to the Rivetti family: expansive and aristocratic on the mouth, with extraordinary length and very refined tannins.

A great wine for life’s big moments. If a serving suggestion is absolutely necessary, try uncorking it alongside a roast duck that has just ‘happened’ to swallow a little black truffle before being put in the oven.

This is where everything is nurtured and flourishes. With his staff, Ivan Rivetti takes care of the winery, assisted by “scientist winemaker” Donato Lanati of Enosis Meraviglia research centre fame. A blend of technical innovation and the savoir faire of days gone by.

Wine is born in the vineyard and “grows” in the winery.

For the red wines, the stalks are usually removed from the clusters when the grapes are crushed. The strictly controlled-temperature fermentation takes place using the traditional system of pumping the must over the cap.

Maturing then follows, mostly in oak casks and barrels of different capacities for periods that vary according not only to the quality of the vintage, but above-all the label those grapes will represent.

For the white varieties, soft pressing produces a must that undergoes the slow fermentation ideal for safeguarding the fresh aromas and typical fruitiness of the grapes.
