TERRAIN 
Extremely clayey and calcareous, with a strong marl presence at 2 meters deep. Sub-alkaline reaction soil.

NOTE 
Briccolina is the pioneer vineyard for our biodynamic approach, introduced here in 2015

IN THE VINEYARD
Scaled selection, carried out three times during the 45 days before the grape harvest. Manual harvest as late as possible.

IN THE CELLAR
Stalk and grape seeds removal/pressing and maceration for 50/60 days on average, half of which  with submerged-cap and the others with floating cap. No controlled temperature during the fermentation that occurs in special wood vat open at the top. Malolactic completed.

CHARACTERISTICS
Bright ruby red with orange reflexes, gentle bouquet of flowers and spices, at the palate is dry and elegant, sober, of good structure for long ageing, with delicate tannins.

clay-sandy-calcareous with bluish marl at a depth of one meter. Terrain with sub-alkaline reaction, low nitrogen content and optimally rich in magnesium.

IN THE VINEYARD  
Drastic selection during the period of color change, intervening in the number of bunches and in the size of individual bunches. Manual harvest.

IN THE CELLAR 
Stalk removal, pressing and maceration for 2 days on average, duration of maceration almost 15 days. Controlled temperature fermentation at 30 °C. Malolactic completed.

CHARACTERISTICS 
The Loiranosoprano is the upper part of Zio Nando vineyard situated at the top of Lirano hill, enjoying a splendid position on the crag. These conditions guarantee a wine with a potency and refinement that is unique in Langa. Optimal tannic and aromatic development over time. Vinifyed only in the best vintages for Barbera grapes.

About us

Company details

We took out vineyards and replanted trees, planted more than a hundred fruit plants of ancient, resistant varieties, we sew old wheat seeds, we built a greenhouse and a vegetable garden managed with organic and biodynamic practices, we created an area for compost, we built an eco-vineyard, where the vineyard lives with small woodlands and rows of aromatic herbs, and we're working on a project to recover old wells and rain waters.

Here we have a century of history, of suffering, of blood, and at the same time beauty, innovation, foresight and intuition.

Organic and biodynamic practices are the means, not the result.

I don't know the map, but I know the direction: clear, well defined, precise.

I am Enrico Rivetto, and I'm here to bring my small world to a resurrection, with manic lucidity.
