The Michel Fonne vineyards account for a total of 15 hectares and are planted with all of the seven Alsatian wine grape varietals. In 1989 Michel returned in Alsace, after an apprenticeship in California, to assume management of the Barth René vineyards and winery from his retiring uncle, René Barth. More than 80% of the production are exported all over the world.
The Grains de Génie is a harmonious blend of several white grape varieties : 35% Pinot Blanc, 45% Riesling, 10% Muscat, 10% Sylvaner.
Its a very pleasant and easy wine to drink seafood, white meats or just for the pleasure with friends.
It should be stored on it side, at an ambient temperature.
The settlement of the village can be traced back to the middle ages. It successively belonged to the lords of Horbourg, the counts of Wurtemberg, the bishop of Strasbourg and to the lords of Ribeaupierre until the revolution.
Michel Fonné, is a certified œnologist from Dijon. After having obtained the technical expertise in Champenoise winemaking in Damery and after having made wine from the 1987 harvest in the Alexander valley in California (Hafner Vineyard), Michel took over the family business of his uncle, René Barth.
