Koyle AUMA

The grapes were handpicked in extremely small, selected parcels, from high density vines in our Los Lingues Vineyard. Coming from parcels D2 for Carmenere, E2 Malbec, E1 for Cabernet Sauvignon, G1 for Cab Franc, F4 Merlot, and C3 for Petit Verdot. Vinification is conducted in 600L barrels to get a gentle extraction of aromas, flavors and tannins. The wine was aged for 24 months in separate lots, and blended all together by gravity to a concrete egg tank, where AUMA was aged for another 9 months prior to bottling.

Koyle Cerro Basalto

The grapes were picked in extremely small, selected parcels, from high density vines in Los Lingues, coming from rocky slopes, where the roots absorb the minerality and freshness of this volcanic basaltic soils from the the unique Cerro Basalto block. The vineyards are in the North East part of our mountains, and soils have a high concentration of iron who develope a elegant and rare expression of this blend. Plantation going from 8.000 to 12.500 vines per hectare, with almost no irrigation, to express their origins as much as possible. At optimum ripeness, the grapes are hand-picked and brought to the cellar for sorting. Vinification is conducted in small tanks to get the best extraction of aromas, flavors and silky tannins, and aging are conducted in concrete eggs and barrels.

Koyle Costa Sauvignon Blanc

The terroir of this special vineyard is yellow granite with quartz stones, and different slope exposures to the elements. Paredones is such a unique place that it inspired me to create this new wine. From the three different exposures observed in the vineyards, north, south and a flat area, I imagined three different methods to extract what these grapes wanted to express. I obtained this by harvesting in three different lots and different days, and vinifying each of these in different materials burgundy barrels, concrete eggs and stainless steel tanks. After 10 month working over the fine lees the result of this is that the aromas, balance and mineralogy of this unique place is expressed in every bottle of Koyle Costa.

Viña Koyle was born from a tradition that runs in our blood: we are a family dedicated to wine for more than six generations, since Don Francisco Undurraga Vicuña began in 1885.
We are dedicated to making wines with identity, from vineyards planted on the rocky slopes of Los Lingues, in Alto Colchagua, at the foot of the Andes mountain range. Our philosophy is based on respecting origin, and we are guided by biodynamic practices. In our winery we make wines that emphasise the excellence of our terroir, using our family’s experience and innovative winemaking techniques as tools to help us.
