AZIENDA AGRICOLA ROMALDO GRECO

- History -

The Azienda Agricola Romaldo Greco was born in 1973 in Seclì, a little village in the heart of Salento peninsula, which has always been suited to growing wine grapes.
The Founder, Romaldo, has been keeping strong ties to his land since the very beginning through a daily work full of commitment and sacrifice, constantly seeking to improve the quality of his grapes.
In 2005, the firstborn son of Romaldo, Antongiulio, joined his father in reorganizing the vineyards, bringing a strong innovative surge in the company management: new grape varieties were introduced and the planting systems were rationalized with modern criteria.

- Winery -

The winery covers an area of about 15 hectares on four different estates (Valentini, Murrone, Conte Grande and Renda). The soil is medium textured, tending to clay. From one estate to another, the soil textures have slight but significant differences that allow a wide heterogeneity in the production.
The planted area, trained by spurred cordon, consists mainly of the two native grapes par excellence, Negroamaro and Primitivo, flanked by international grape varieties such as Chardonnay, Syrah, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon.

- Mission -

Quality first, along with passion, tradition and innovation: these keywords sum up the history of the Azienda Agricola Romaldo Greco and its wines.
The company credo is to highlight both tradition and innovation, enhancing the autochthon grape varieties and reinterpreting the centuries-old farming tradition of this land in a contemporary way. It is in this spirit that the choice to avail of the advice of Gruppo Matura, an internationally consolidated wine consulting agency, should be seen: getting the best possible support in developing the winery’s project to encompass tradition and innovation.
