AGREIN ROS LAGREIN ROSÉ

Grapes: Lagrein - Alto Adige DOC
Origin: This very elegant varietal which is unique to Alto Adige growing on the loamy soils of the medieval market town of Ora.
Yield per hectare: 65 hl.
Vinification: After the stems are removed, the grapes are left to macerate
for one day and then pressed. In this way, we succeed in only partially
imparting the coloring, which is contained in the skins, to the must, and the
wine thereby obtains its fine rosé tone. The alcoholic fermentation is carried
out with pure strains of yeast at a controlled temperature of 20 - 22° C (68 -
72° F) in stainless steel tanks.

SCHIAVA DOC

Grapes: Schiava (a blend of various varieties of Schiava) – Alto Adige DOC
Origin: This varietal grows on the traditional trellis system, the pergola, on the
gently warmed loamy soils of the beautiful slopes around Cortaccia. The area offers
the basis for a product of outstanding quality.
Yield per hectare: 70 hl.
Vinification: The stems are immediately removed and the grapes are fermented
for 8 days at a constant temperature. The must is kept in regular contact with the
skins through circulation pumping and gentle pressure from below. We thus achieve
ideal results with the coloring from the skins and emphasize the fruitiness of the
wine.

Pinot Noir Rolhüt

Grapes: Pinot Noir – Alto Adige DOC
Origin: This Pinot Noir flourishes in the cultivated vineyards in the immediate
vicinity of the winery at an elevation of 450 m. (1,400 ft.). These hills, a
conglomerate of particular soils of loam, chalk, and porphyry, and the very
well-suited climate, form the ideal basis for producing a Pinot Noir of highest
quality.
Yield per hectare: 50 hl.
Vinification: The stems are immediately removed and the grapes are
fermented at a constant temperature of 26 - 28° C (79 - 82° F) for about 7
days. The must is kept in contact with the skins through circulation pumping
and gentle pressure from below. We thus achieve ideal results with the coloring
from the skins and emphasize the fruitiness of the wine. After two gentle
rackings, 70% of this Pinot Noir is aged over 12 months in large barrels of
French oak, and the remainder is aged in small casks of French oak (barriques)
which are 2 - 3 years old. After blending, the wine is bottled and then aged an
additional 6 months in the bottle before it goes on sale.

About us

Company details

In our winegrowing region whose tradition already achieved fame during the period of the Roman emperors, wine, culture, and art have been closely intertwined throughout history: Alto Adige – South Tyrol has been shaped by countless generations of winegrowers as a land of quality wines.

The cultivation of vineyards has been an important part of our family history for almost a century. The third generation still shows the same enthusiasm for wine.

Culture and nature, tradition and innovation, great respect and development, I love and live my environment.
Peter Zemmer
