Cuvée Fontenille 2017 ROSE

A symphony full of nuances and variations. The score starts with the blending of several times: the elegance of citrus alternates with the freshness of red fruits. The next measurement offers an elegant approach, round and rich for a gentle first contact. The finish, as long as intense, wanted voluntarily straighter is the characteristic signature of Fontenille wines. Wine raced and balanced.

Cuvée Fontenille 2016 RED

Blend of a multitude of desserts, this wine is a paradox. The nose can be compared to a superposition of several layers of aromas. Chocolate and cocoa brings an almost childish and gourmand touch. The second layer of fresh fruits (cherry, strawberry, raspberry) offers to the whole elegance and balance. In the mouth, the attack begins with delicacy before leaving room for notes of bitter chocolate and spices. No doubt, it is an adult dessert !

Cuvée Fontenille 2017 WHITE

A bouquet of fresh white flowers and citrus fruits, which are offered with lightness. Acacia, jasmine and hawthorn reign on a nose that does not ban the gluttony of a touch of honey. The mouth is not left behind. She is envelopping and gives the sensation of crunching a fleshy white peach. The finish brings contrast to the whole by its tension and its minerality.

Cuvée Alphonse 2015 RED

An unbelievable and intense deep nose of bluecurrant and black cherries binging us visiting a forest. A black forest. It is not a simple cherry. Jammy, « kirschée », it implies an important potential of aging and a promising evolution. The mouth is elegant. Notes of spices and cocoa bring contrast to the fruit and the insurance of a long and prospering life for this Alphonse.

Cuvée Alphonse 2016 WHITE

Imagine a meal where smells of grilled bread roll mixed with the creaminess of a clod of butter. Generosity and structure, yes, but not only. The contrast between notes of peach, honey, dried fruits and a final tense, saline, remind us that here, terroir is under the spotlight, not aging. A final of great persistence.

Cuvée Alphonse 2016 ROSE

Generous nose transporting us in a field where red small berry trees are growing under the sun. Strawberry, redcurrant blended with hints of exotic aromas (jasmine, coco). Silky and delicate mouth bringing back mall red berries with livelyness and freshness. Long lasting after taste with salinity, signature of Domaine de Fontenille’s wines.

About us

Company details

Founded in 1637 with 12 Ha of vines, Domaine de Fontenille is one of the oldest property in Luberon. Famous in the late 90ies thanks yo an international recognition for the quality of its reds. It was bought in 2013 by 2 french investors that fall in love with the terroir and the old country house of the vineyard.

After 2 years of hardwork, Domaine de Fontenille has been transformed into a 4 stars hotel with 2 restaurants, both headed by Jerome FAURE, 1 star at Michelin's Guide, an art center and a new winery.

This new winery was build in order to produce elegant and signature wines certified organic on both ranges : Fontenille and Alphonse.
Cuvee Fontenille proposes generous wines on the fruit offering salinity on their finishes. Cuvee Alphonse are gastronomic wines produced from a selection of parcels, on low yields and a part of the wine aging in 400-500L oak barrels.

3rd year of commercialization since the re-opening date : February 2016.
