2016 Pinot Noir

The 2016 Pinot Noir was sourced exclusively from estate fruit and was blessed with an amazing warm, dry summer.  The lack of rain really helped ward off disease pressure and ensured beautiful ripeness to this heartbreak grape.  The warm days, paired with the cool fall evenings, allowed for slow even maturity throughout the vineyard.  Picking over a period of two weeks we were able to capture the bright acidity along with the rich fruit characteristic Pinot Noir is great at showing off.  The fruit was hand picked and hand sorted to ensure only the best clusters made it to the fermenter.   The wine was aged in French oak for a period of 10 months, with 20% of the oak being new.  As a blend of various blocks throughout the vineyard, the wine is truly an expression the diversity of Pinot Noir.   Twenty Mile Bench - 4545 cases bottled Aug-17 - ABV13.50%  RS<2g/L  PH3.64 TA6.32

2013 Gravity Pinot Noir

The Gravity bottling of Pinot Noir is designed to showcase the 'best of the best' in our vineyard and cellar. With a very good crop of fruit in 2013, we were able to have an even greater selection of Pinot Noir fruit to choose from and more barrels of wine to select for our top Pinot Noir blend. The end result is a wine that is very subtle in its oak profile in order to showcase the sweet & savoury notes of Pinot Noir. The core of fruit is balanced with some use of stems or whole clusters in the fermentation vat. We are always looking to craft our iconic wines to showcase fruit purity with nuance and elegance. This is how we feel we can best express the terroir of our Twenty Mile Bench vineyard.  660 cases bottled Apr-15  ABV13%  RS<2g/L PH3.75  TA6.5

2016 Nadja's Vineyard Riesling

Nadja's Vineyard Riesling was planted in 2001, in shallow soils that lay atop thick limestone on the edge of the escarpment. This is our iconic Riesling and highlights the citrus and chalky notes that are typical of this vineyard. Hand picked, whole cluster pressed and a cool, slow fermentation provide the more pure expression. Fermentation is halted to balance out the racy acidity with some natural sweetness from the Riesling juice. 2016 Twisted

Our proprietary white aromatic blend 'Twisted' is one of the most fun and exciting wines we craft. We create many individual wines in the cellar using a variety of techniques to best capture the purity of Riesling, Gewurztraminer and Chardonnay.  The final blending of Twisted is a challenge each year, but one we relish. The 2016 Twisted is 61% Riesling, 31% Gewurztraminer and 8% Chardonnay.
