Château l'Afrique rosé - Famille Sumeire

Located on the commune of Cuers in the heart of the Côtes de Provence Pierrefeu terroir, Chateau L’Afrique is an ancient property dating back to the Roman Era.
It was named l’Afrique in the beginning of the XIX th Century by a previous owner when he returned from Africa to settle in Provence. A map dating from 1844 showing l’Afrique (then spelled l’Affrique) and its’ parcels of vine was found in the local town hall archives.
Gabriel Sumeire purchases the property in 1953 and is today run by his great grandchildren Olivier and his sister Sophie.
The red sandstone bedrock has produced a sandy limestone soil which is cultivated sustainably. The wines, red, white and rosé are round and full of   finesse, characteristics of the exceptional Pierrefeu terroir.
