The range

As the oldest trading House, we possess a huge collection of vintages (the oldest one is vintage 1893) ideal for any events (birthdays, events, custom labels ) and blends also (XO, VSOP and VS). Bottling dates for vintages are handwritten on the back labels to give a true indication of the ageing time and of the woody character. Regarding the blends for example our XO is 20 (aged 20 years in oak wood barrel) whereas the legislation imposes 10 years of ageing in wooden casks.

Armagnac Castarède recognized as a Living Heritage Company

Symbol of recognition for the Excellence made in France

I am happy to announce that our independent, family house founded in 1832 has just received the quality certification "Living Heritage Company" ( Entreprise du Patrimoine Vivant).

This distinction, delivered by the French State (Ministry of Finance) is a reference of quality that testifies to a French savoir-faire.

This certification rewards the work of a team who has worked together in search of Excellence since the company's foundation. This is reflected in all the stages of the Armagnac production, from the work in the vineyards, the distillation to the ageing of our Armagnacs.

Our cellar masters since 1832 have all contributed thanks to their savoir-faire and their talent to us being recognized as a "Living Heritage Company", “the excellence à la française”.

My team and I watch over our estate situated in the Bas-Armagnac region by protecting the ancestral methods that have built our reputation, all the while modernizing the process with a firm resolution of quality and respect for the environment.

Always very attentive to the market demands of the consumers, we offer new ranges : a VS Armagnac at 42.5°abv to meet the expectations of the bartenders looking for a slightly higher degree for their cocktails and Cask Strength Armagnacs (non-reduced) with a one-of-a-kind packaging.

Present in 55 countries, our House is often awarded medals in national and international competitions. Once again this year, it has won a gold medal at the Concours Général de Paris, along with the title "Best Armagnac of the World", testimony to its unique and timeless savoir-faire.

Company details

The oldest House of Armagnac, since 1832

Established in 1832, the Castarède’s House is the oldest House of Armagnac. The Castarède family possesses one of the most important collections of vintages. This unique know-how passed down to the six generations who have succeeded each other deserves this reputation of excellence.

An estate full of History

The estate of the family is located in the heart of the Bas Armagnac in Mauléon d’Armagnac (Gers). The castle dates back from the 16th centrury, surrounded by a vinyard of  four grape varieties : Folle Blanche, Ugni Blanc, Colombard and  Baco 22A.

A commitment and a passion

For over 180 years, the Castarède family has taken care with love of this unique know-how in producing this nectar. Florence Castarède, the 6th generation and musketeer as d’Artagnan travels all around the word to share with people this extraordinary family, cultural and gastronomic heritage.

An international reputation

Present on tables of gourmet restaurants and bars all over the world, Armagnacs Castarède are also available in France and in 50 countries, in liquor stores. In tribute to Baron Haussmann, deputy of  Nérac who encouraged  their ancestors to get involved the first in the business, the Castarède family has opened a show-room in the heart of Paris, 140 Boulevard Haussmann.
