Lambrusco Grasparossa Castelvetro DOP

The Lambrusco SassoStorno is the fruit of an excellent vineyard situated on the banks of the river Tiepido in Castelnuovo Rangone - born in one the many valleys formed in the past by stones crumbling from the mountains of the Apennines and
later transported downstream by the rivers.
An ancient vineyard, rich in vigor, hydrated from shadowing of the river, forms in the vineyard a fantastic blend, where the peculiarity of this soil yields a wine of a purple color, with great body, with distinct aromas of red fruits.
In addition, the choice of a cuvée formed by two vintages: maturity and structure are given by the aging of one year in a cask of steel from the previous harvest, coupled with the freshness and fragrance of the grape harvest in progress.
A wine that thanks to its powerful structure can be also perfectly paired to the finest red meats, other than being a wine well suited to all courses of Modena’s traditional cuisine.

Lambrusco Grasparossa di Castelvetro D.O.P. Dry

As reported on the tag hanging from the neck of the bottle, this wine represents the ultimate expression of the centenary tradition characterized by the highest selection of our grapes. A masterpiece of craftsmanship and nature. As soon as it is poured into the glass, the BrunoZanasi comes with a nice purple foam which introduces a wine with intense ruby red colour and a dense, almost impenetrable texture. There is pulp, there is very soft and spicy fruit, there is the result of excellent power and force, especially chromatic, in the vivid purple sparkling. Deep and impenetrable its visual and olfactory mount, supported by alcohol, which pushes its majestic mass of fully ripe fruit and intensely spiced. The scent is a mix of ripe red fruits, accompanied by a note of freshness, with the latter enhanced by the bubbles. In the mouth the perlage returns to tickle the tongue. Dry, the fruity notes accompany the wine also in the tasting phase, the freshness and the effervescence are well balanced by a sensation of moderate warmth and a slight and non-aggressive tannin. The BrunoZanasi fades nicely, keeping unchanged its balance even after you’ve swallowed the last sip from the glass. Ultimately a balanced and exquisite product, worthy expression of a territory which is revamping while maintaining strong ties with tradition. The color declares its great depth: not only the visual appearance, but in all its sensory manifestations, affirming its concentrated structure. A ripe plum compote which the vivacious sparks ignite on minty veins of eucalyptus, the fruity notes that softly push it the black of the cherry and cassis.
A fruit of great talents, powerful, persistent, with excellent roundness of flavour in its textured foam. Suitable for the whole meal, fits perfectly to international cuisine, and why not, with Neapolitan pizza with sausage and mushrooms.
Perfect with red and fatty meats, thanks to lively effervescence leaves the palate clean and perfect balance.

Piè Franco

Lambrusco Grasparossa Castelvetro DOP

Phylloxera is, or rather was, one of the most serious natural disasters of agriculture.
It is a deadly parasite that feeds on the roots of the vines and that once it has attacked a vineyard, it destroys it completely. Native to the American continent, the Phylloxera Castratix is aphid arrived in Europe around 1850, via steamboats that allowed cross the Atlantic in less than ten days, enough time for the parasite to survive. From France the Phylloxera quickly spreads throughout Europe, literally destroying the vineyards. Fortunately, in the Zanasi homesteads, not all plants were affected and still over 150 years later it produces from the vineyard “ungrafted” a wine from grapes Grasparossa of great importance and unmistakable scent and flavour: Excelsus.
Typical Lambrusco of yore, with Italian graft, and with stalk that turns red when ripe. Zanasi offers this wine with great passion and pride.
Wine from Tradition, with the effervescent pleasure, intense ruby red colour, brisk reflexes with the purple foam. Frothy in its powerful tannin, it is remarkable at the nose for the clarity of his odorous structure: wide and turgid is the outline of his very
thick fruit. Bubbly at the nose, this wine exhibits all its complexity. The scents are those of the territory: vinous, fruity, flowery with extraordinary areas of raspberry, red fruit and blueberry, we recognize a note of violet and ripe citrus fruit. The registering
then its pulpy power are not in intensity and vigour but rather in fragrance and depth; this is due to the oenological transformations as well as the rigorous viticulture at the base. In the mouth it has a great structure and body, vivacious, with a ripe vein typical of this amazing product. Its softness in swallowing effectively balances the decisive power at the start. A pleasant wine suitable to the cousine of every territory, easily paired with red meat, stuffed pasta, lasagna, cheese, perfect with very fat fish (eel-sheatfish-catfish) and stewed codfish, stewed donkey.

About us

Company details

Zanasi winery
Aided by a rather fertile and generous land, the Zanasi winery offers wines of other time, in which authenticity and simplicity still prevail. Wines which tell of the flavour of a country picnic, of home-made- bread, of salami, or of farm cheeses.

The vintage of a wine is determined by simple and natural elements, such as: sun, rain, snow, as well as the personal ambition of the owner, who aims to improve the quality of his vineyard. The landsconstituting the company are located near Modena, both in the plains, but especially in the hills of Castelvetro, for their Lambrusco Grasparossa. The vineyards also include Lambrusco of Sorbara, Pignoletto, Trebbiano of Castelvetro, and local Prosecco: all grapes that are directly cultivated by the Company.

Only by growing wine grapes directly produced by the company, following tradition, and constantly controlling the entire wine producing cycle, from treating the vines, to harvesting, then leading to production, storage, refining, and bottling of the wine (through an isobaric machine), can Zanasi wines be obtained.

The winery is equipped with the most technologically advanced systems for producing sparkling wines, with the use of a cold maceration process, in order to obtain a wine that exploits all the flavours and aromas of the grapes, along with the use of autoclaves for the “Charmat” method (a method that allows for fermentation in barrels, and no longer in bottles, for a perfect product without sediment at the bottom of the bottle).
