Cerasuolo d’Abruzzo DOC

Production and wine making
Montepulciano grapes are processed with a limited contact between must and skins (about 12 hours) in order to give life to this Montepulciano Cerasuolo d’Abruzzo DOC “Frentano”. The must is then slowly fermented at low temperature, around 13°C, to enhance the olfactory fineness. Following a period of aging on the lees, in order to make the wine more harmonious and persistent at the taste.
 
Features of the wine
The color is of pale red cherry; the smell is persistent and fruity; scents of berries are present. The taste is round, dry and pleasant. It is a versatile wine, suitable for many pairings, such as soups, first courses, fried and roasted fish and pizza. To be served at 10-12°C. Alcohol content: 12.5% vol.

Panarda Montepulciano DOC

Production and wine making
This wine is the result of a project that starts from the vineyard; it is in fact created from grapes of selected vineyards within the “Quality Vineyards” that Cantina Frentana started several years ago. The wine is made with prolonged maceration and with peak temperatures of around 30 degrees, in order to allow a complete extraction of color, tannins and aromatic precursors. After the wine is subjected to aging in fine oak barrels, for a period of 18 months, during which the wine evolves towards maturity.
 
Features of the wine
Ruby red color with violet reflections; the nose has considerable complexity of aromas, including spicy and balsamic notes accompanying hints of ripe red fruit, blackberry jam, black cherries under alcohol and violet. These features make it an ideal companion for substantial dishes such as red meat, lamb, game, cheese; it is a sipping and after dinner wine, with dark chocolate flakes. It is recommended to decant the wine before tasting, to facilitate oxygenation, and served at a temperature of 16-18° C.

Spumante Pecorino

Production and wine making
Made of grapes of the homonymous vine variety. After the crushing, de-stemming and soft pressing, the must undergoes to a static cleaning, followed by the alcoholic fermentation at a controlled temperature activated by selected yeasts native. The second fermentation takes place in a stainless steel tank, with a particular pressure condition, as it is required by Martinotti Method. It is then aged in stainless steel tanks for about five months before being bottled.

Features of the wine
Pale yellow color, it has a delicate nose, with hints of white flowers and unripen fruit. It goes well with appetizers, main dishes and seafood, soups and white meats. To be served at a temperature of 8-10°C. Alcohol content: 12.5% vol.

BANCA DEI VIGNETI: OUR HERITAGE
 
Many arms and many minds have allowed Cantina Frentana to be what it is. What we now know as Banca dei vigneti (Vineyards bank) was created from many years of shared knowledge: it’s an extraordinary resource thanks to which the cellar directly manages part of the vineyards, using organic techniques, in view of converting the whole production to organic cultivation with the passing of time. It’s a concrete commitment in defence of the greatest heritage of a cooperative company: those precious vineyards at risk of being abandoned because of the lack of generational turnover within farming families. Preserving the territory and the landscape, offering an occupational perspective to young people who want to stay in the countryside, but have little land at their disposal: Banca dei vigneti supports all of these activities.
