Amarone della Valpolicella D.O.C.G..

CLASSIFICATION. Amarone della Valpolicella D.O.C.G..

GRAPES. Corvina Veronese, Corvinone Rondinella.

PRODUCTION. The noblest of wines, produced from the best grapes harvested by hand. The grapes are placed in crates and brought to a temperature-controlled environment where they will undergo a natural process of drying for a period of 3 to 4 months. The drying concentrates the sugar content and favors certain organoleptic alterations, which constitutes a big part of the Amarone secret. The thick juice obtained from the pressing of the dried grapes is then left to ferment slowly over a period ranging from 15 to 20 days. The wine obtained is then separated in stainless steel tanks, where the malolactic fermentation is completed. Following this process, the wine is transferred into oak barriques for the aging period of 12-18 months.

If the wine is properly stored in the cellar at a controlled temperature, in a horizontal position and in the absence of light, it will keep the organoleptic properties intact for 8 - 12 years.

COLOR. Deep garnet.

NOSE. Notes of plum and cherry with hints of raspberry.

TASTE. Full-bodied, soft and slight aromatic lingering aftertaste.

SERVE. Decant at least an hour before serving in large, deep glasses.

SERVING SUGGESTIONS. Excellent with red and grilled meats, game and aged hard texture cheeses.

TOTAL ALCOHOL. 15%.

TOTAL ACIDITY, IN TARTARIC ACID. 5.9 grams/liter.

GIOAN

CLASSIFICATION. Dry Red Wine I.G.T..

GRAPES. Corvina Veronese, Rondinella, Merlot.

PRODUCTION PROCESS. Gioan is the wine maker’s interpretation and expressed passion for the unique winemaking method called “appassimento”. By this method the grapes are left to dry out slowly for 2 - 3 months, decreasing their weight by 25 - 40%, and enhancing the concentration and the sweet aromas in the wine. This wine is obtained from partially dried Corvina, Rondinella and Cabernet Sauvignon grapes. After racking, the wine matures for an additional 12 months in oak barrels.

TOTAL ALCOHOL CONTENT. 14,5%.

TOTAL ACIDITY, IN TARTARIC ACID. 5.8 grams per liter.

SHELF LIFE. If the wine is stored properly at a constant temperature around 15 - 18 °C, in horizontal position in absence of light. It will maintain and keep for 4 to 7 years.

COLOR. Intense ruby purple.

NOSE. Spicy of plum and cherry and a hint of raspberry.

TASTE. The complex aromas range from vanilla, spiciness to fruit flavours such as blackberries and plums.

SERVE. At least an hour before and serve in large deep glasses.

FOOD MATCHING. Excellent most types of red meat, both grilled and braised, as well as with a good aged cheese.

About us

Company details

Antiche Terre Venete is the result of an encounter, or rather, a friendship. The desire to create something by hand of the fruits from the beautiful Valpantena, the lesser known, but equally rich and generous as its neighbor, Valpolicella. It is in Valpantena, in the Sezano area very close to Verona, that the winery Antiche Terre Venete is located, embraced by the natural wide valley surrounded by terracing covered with vineyards. With a production of about 1.6 million bottles a year of Ripasso, Amarone and Valpolicella, Antiche Terre Venete has become an ambassador of the Veronese winemaking traditions and expertise.
