Grape variety: 100 % Sangiovese, small grape, from the vineyard Vigna delle Bambole

Harvest by hand

Fermentation in stainless steel tanks at a max. temperature of 28° for 21 days 

Maturation 12 months in 500 litre-barrels of French oak, further 18 months in oak barrels à 1.000 litres; ageing in the bottle for min. 6 months

Colour: ruby red with garnet red nuances

Nose: robust, with a note of ripe, red fruits, persistent and typical, rounded off with a soft, spicy note

On the palate: powerful, strong structure, well balanced, fresh with velvety, well-integrated tannins, harmonious, spicy and long lasting finish

Maturation 12-18 months in oak barrels of medium dimension, then 12 months of ageing in the bottle

Colour bright ruby red

Nose expressive aroma, typical, fine, with elegant notes of cherries and red fruits, hints of holm oak and earth

On the palate medium structure, round and well-balanced, well-integrated acidity, strong but unostentatious tannins, spicy and long lasting finish

Drinking temperature 18-20° C

Rooted in tradition – with an eye to the future
Our family history has its roots in a piece of land in picturesque Conca d’Oro, the ”golden valley“ of Panzano in Chianti in the heart of the Chianti Classico. Here our grandfathers Dario and Dino, and later Monia’s father Fabrizio tended and nurtured the vineyards with the utmost respect for nature. Now we have the privilege of expressing the values and expertise of our forebears in the third generation, in order to bring our wine estate Azienda Agricola Il Palagio di Panzano, sustainably into the future.
