Aged in nude concrete

Wine apellation: Vino de la Tierra de Castilla

Wine tasting note
Sight: Attractive purple cherry tone, clean, with hues of blue and of a good intensity.

Nose: Expressive and well defined with flower, cherry and strawberry aromas as well a light hint of chocolate notes and spices (licorice).

Mouth: Good attack, powerful with a good tannic balance and volume

Variety
45% Tempranillo, 40% Syrah, 9% Cabernet Sauvignon, 4% Graciano and 2% Roussane, that enhances the aromatic complexity and contributes with vivacity and freshness.

Harvesting
Manual, at the end of September

Making and ageing

Fermentation temperature: 25 ºC, in tanks with temperature control.

Fermentation time: 3 days of cold maceration and 7 days of alcoholic maceration. The whole extraction process is carried out manually.

Maceration time after fermentation: 7 days.

Malolactic fermentation: naked concrete tanks, working with fine lees.

Ageing: over 12 months in naked concrete tanks with a soft touch of used barrel.

Elegant crianza

Wine apellation: Vino de la Tierra de Castilla

Wine tasting note

Sight: Attractive purple cherry tone, clean, with hues of blue and a good intensity.

Nose: Expressive and well defined tertiary aromas (tobacco, cinnamon, chocolate), fruity (glace strawberries and dry cherry) and spicy (licorice, clove and balsamic).

Mouth: Balanced and fresh, with a good concentration and acidity, fresh tannins, red fruits (strawberries, cherries) and a tertiary long finish (tobacco, licorice).

Variety

83% Tempranillo, 15% Graciano and 2% Roussanne. Tempranillo provides volume, Graciano ripe red fruit and Roussanne increases the aromatic complexity and contributes also with freshness.

Manual, at the end of September

Making and ageing

Fermentation temperature: 25 ºC, in nude concrete tanks and open tanks.

Fermentation time: 3 days of cold maceration plus 7 days of alcoholic maceration, with dumping over by hand. Partial work has been done with whole bunches.

Maceration time after fermentation: 14 days at low temperature.

Malolactic fermentation: Nude concrete tanks and used 225L barrels.

Ageing: 18 months in used 225L barrels, with a final refinement in nude concrete tanks.

Company details

Family  vineyard

Tinedo is the Alvarez-Arenas’ family estate. It has been dedicated to the production of wine in a traditional way for generations. The estate is made up of 49 hectares of vineyards in the heart of La Mancha.

Our family are growers and winemakers since 1742. The existing main house, tool sheds, winery, and gardens were built up in the late 19th century by our great grand mother.

Manuel, Esperanza and Amparo Álvarez-Arenas, the last family's generation, have lead from 2002 the renovation of the vineyard and the winemaking concepts behind Tinedo's wines, looking for the full expression of the oenological potential of the terroir.

Tinedo has reinforced its social and environmental concerns, encouraging the sustainability as a model of agricultural, rural, and social development related to the culture of wine.
