We are Aurelia and Frédéric Caumont. At the beginning of 2015, we became the proud winemakers and owners of the vineyard Domaine du Salut – Château Huradin (two names for the same farm).
Along with our two children, we dropped the Parisian life to move back to our native area of Bordeaux and become winemakers at the beginning of 2015. We are Vigneron Indépendant, which is a French label for independent winegrowers making their wines fully in-house, from the grapes to the bottle.
Nearly 25 miles from downtown Bordeaux, the family farm covers 16 hectares of vines. In the heart of the Graves Appellation, name after the gravels that mostly compose the land, the vineyard is precisely located on the Plateau of Cérons which is famous for the diversity and the quality of the soil.
At the edge of the vines, two old moulin caviers complete the global picture to offer an authentic sight of the Bordeaux countryside.
All our types of wines are fully elaborated in-house.
Frederic takes care of the vines, aiming to reduce the external input: herbicides are already no longer used. As for Aurélia, she is dedicated to making fruity and rounded wines, designed to be enjoyed casually.
Our labels differentiate with the ones used in Bordeaux and better match with todays trends and way of drinking wine.
