About us

Company details

The story of Champagne J.CHARPENTIER began 5 generations ago. We are independent winegrowers. We work the vineyard, we harvest our grapes and we vinify our wines.

Our vineyards are located in the center of the Champagne region, about 12 kilometers from Epernay. Our vineyards are spread over multiple "crus" – a total of 12 crus and 44 parcels. Our vineyard, by the diversity of its wines and grapes, allows us to offer a wide variety, complete and genuine.

Champagne J. CHARPENTIER grows all three types of grape: Pinot Meunier, Pinot Noir, and Chardonnay. The majority of the grapes are from black grapes: the Pinot Meunier brings a light and fruity taste, whereas the Pinot Noir builds a more powerful body. The Chardonnay is a white grape and gives a fresh and floral aspect to the wine.

Respect of the environment: organic fertilizers are used in several parcels and a permanent “enherbement” is done over the vineyards during winter or summer. Ground maintenance is done either by plowing or by “enherbement” that can be temporary or permanent, selected or not.

All our grapevines are grown in respect of the environment. Protection of the vineyard is done as needed, mostly according to climatic conditions.

.
We are working with the vine respect for nature and we from generation to generation transmit our passion, combining tradition and modernity.
