Falchini Brut Spumante metodo classico

This Spumante Millesimato is produced from a careful selection of the best Vernaccia and Chardonnay grapes from the Casale vineyards, in addition to a small quantity of Pinot Noir. After the first fermentation in stainless steel tanks and a small quantity moved to French oak barrels for fermentation, the wine is fermented naturally in the bottle, where it continues to age for many more months. Long contact with the yeast and the minerality of the Vernaccia give this Spumante Metodo Classico its particular and unique characteristics. Sparkling wine produced in small quantities.

Mainly produced with Sangiovese grapes from vineyards in the hills around San Gimignano, this Tuscan red wine spends a brief period in barrels, then is aged in the bottle before leaving the cellar. The Mora di Selva is distinguished by its characteristic intense ruby red colour and distinct blackberry aroma. The characteristics of the Sangiovese Toscano are best appreciated when the wine is decanted.

About us

Company details

Azienda Agricola Casale di Falchini is located one kilometre from San Gimignano and has many hectares of specialised vineyard that extend over gently rolling hills with green fields, olive trees and dense, orderly vineyards.

The old house, which gives the area its name, was a friary in times past. The company was founded in 1964 and, thanks to the expertise and commitment of the owner, Riccardo Falchini, the first specialised vineyard was established in 1968. Later, in 1976, following the careful advice of his winemaker, Giacomo Tachis, the old cellar was replaced by the new winery equipped with modern facilities for cold vinification of wines and specialised bottling, the first in the area to be equipped with modern systems for the cold control of musts and wines.

At Casale many different types of wines are produced but 65% of production is given over to Vernaccia di San Gimignano, the first DOCG white wine in Italy. The two Vernaccia wines produced are Vigna a Solatio and Ab Vinea Doni. Even more important are the reds, which have shown that the soil and climate of the torri are perfect for these products: the Chianti Colli Senesi DOCG Titolato Colombaia, the red Super Tuscan Paretaio, which is a fine example of the real class of Sangiovese, and the other Super Tuscan red, the Campora, which has been a revelation since the first - and exceptional - vintage in 1985.

The Company has been exporting its wines worldwide for more than 35 years and has received many awards in major international competitions, including two Gran Medaglie d’Oro at the "Vinitaly" International Wine Competition in 1996 for its Spumante Metodo Classico and the Campora Red IGT Toscano. Recent vintages of this last wine received the prestigious “5 Grappoli” award of the "DUEMILAVINI Guide" published by AIS (Italian Sommelier Association) for the 2009, 2010, 2011 and 2012 editions respectively. This award was reconfirmed by the Gold Medals received at the 48th and 49th National Competition of Vini dei Pramaggiore.
