A Sangiovese that collects the territoriality of our vineyards, in a blend with Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Syrah. A combination of freshness and excellent drinkability that comes from various areas of our winery with clay-rich soils with and a medium-high presence of structure.
During pre-harvesting the first days of September created stability into the best grape clusters then harvested. 2015 was a perfect vintage, warm but not dry or wet, ideal weather conditions for a grape variety that in fact does not love too much heat nor heavy precipitations. It has spicy and mineral notes typical of Syrah, it is refined, elegant yet powerful and incredibly balanced. Syrah 2015 comes from a very small selection of only 15 barriques, obtained by a manual crushing in an open vat/ barrique. Thanks to the favorable weather conditions, during vinification, it was possible to use stems which granted the contribution of elegant and delicate tannins. This wine is marked by a great complexity, it is a sequence of warm mineral notes where graphite dominates.
Vintage 2015 will be available starting by September 2017.
Rosso dei Notri originated from an advantageous harvest since it was warm during July and August but fresh in September. Tua Rita has always expressed the best during warm vintages in fact 2016 is the proof of how the heat and great thermal excursion between night and day can communicate the true style of Tua Rita.
Rosso dei Notri aticipes the other wines through the remarkable structure combined with the rich fruits.
Perlato del Bosco 2015 is the result of a particularly encouraging vintage that delivered a regular maturation of our grapes in a timely manner. The winemaking process took place in a “tino troncoconico di rovere” (conical oak vats) for 6 months and then 10 months in barriques. The vintage defines the typical characteristics of Sangiovese from the coast: fresh and classical notes of “Macchia Mediterranea” that make this wine special for its territoriality.
The good acidicty makes this wine easy to drink young but also suitable for aging.
Giusto di Notri is a powerful yet elegant wine. Pre-harvesting was limited as well as grape clusters selection since the vintage did not require any particular intervention. This wine shows extreme complexity and structured, also considering of the marvelous vintage. Good tannins, strong body with varietals notes of remarkable length. Excellent aging potential.
Redigaffi has an intense color that arouses enthusiasm and satisfy the sight, it highlights great complexity characterized by the fruity attack in the mouth leaving then “room” to tobacco and liquorice notes. Good concentration given by the pre-harvesting activity, three passages and perfect maturation reached by our grapes. Outstanding complexity. Floral notes typical of our “Macchia Mediterranea” are intense and persistent. The elegance of tannins is enhanced by the great structure and balance. Considerable extraction and good acidity.
In 1984 Rita and Virgilio realized their lifelong dream purchasing the property that became Tua Rita. The landscape and buildings on this property were a mere setting for living in contact with nature whilst farming their beloved land. Their overwhelming passion for wine actually changed their plans.
The original two hectares of vineyards have been cultivated meticulously since the beginning, this rigorous and passionate care collocated Tua Rita among the most successful producers labeled as “vins de garage”. In less than a decade they had extended the property up to nine hectares, then twenty; nowadays the totality of the planted vines includes thirty hectares.
Growth has been driven by Rita and Virgilios enduring enthusiasm and an ever-deepening awareness of the potential of this estate in the area, between the Tyrrhenian Sea and the Colline Metallifere, known as Val di Cornia.
On one hand the estate and the cellar had being steadily growing driven by Rita and Virgilios extreme commitment. On the other hand thanks to Stefano Frascolla, married to the owners daughter Simena, the winerys brand awareness was expanding rapidly. Simena also got involved in the family-run business after Virgilios death in 2010.
The estates name derives from the inversion of Rita Tuas first and last name.
