Château de Lavison
Over the generations, this 13th-century château and its 50 hectares of vines in a single stretch have been increasingly taken over by women. Johanne, the grandmother, Martine, her daughter in law, and Alexandra the granddaughter, now watch over this vineyard in the Entre-Deux-Mers.
The methods and taste of wine may have changed with the handover between generations, but the message is the same. And they are all driven by the same quest for quality, using modern techniques just to put the finishing touch to the age-old growing techniques. Although harvesting machines have made their appearance now on the estate, there are also two sorting tables to make sure only the best grapes are kept.
