Château Haut-Bergeron, Bordeaux Graves, Sauternes

A family Traditionsince the 19th century
The first documents giving evidence to the property date back to 1756. The Lamothe family acquired Château Haut Bergeron in 1820. After the 8th generation, the Lamothe family is now the oldest of the appellation of Sauternes devoted to winemaking. Patrick and Hervé Lamothe, now both managers of the property, work toward revealing the potential of this outstanding terroir.

The vineyard
Over the last generations, the property has been extended to come to its actual size of 86 acres in the Sauternes appellation as well as 24 acres in the Graves appellation. The Premium terroirs especially ones close to Château D'Yquem are located in Sauternes, Bommes and Preignac. The family's vineyard also spreads out over Barsac (Château Farluret, turning to organic agriculture) and Graves (Château La Fleur des Pins et Clos des Pins).

With their family spirit and taste for hard work, the Lamothe brothers perpetuate the precious know-how of the winery and offer a large range of wines with the original style of Château Haut-Bergeron.

A sustainable farming as a priority
From 2000 on, ploughing of the soils was reintroduced. Growing grass naturally between the ranks, which is essential to have a natural water regulation of the soils, started in 2009.
Organic fertilizers are mainly made of seeds and skin of compost grapes and bovine manure. The results of our sustainable and environment friendly approach are being seen years after years especially with the biodiversity in the vines, such as swarm of bees or ladybirds colonies.

Come and visit us
We would be glad to welcome you at the château ! Château Haut Bergeron is the place to share a moment of conviviality and taste our wines. You can also stay for a diner with our special Chef.

Champagne 1er Cru Croix d'Irval

A story to discover ; Croix d’Irval is a Champagne house, managed by Jean Servagnat, a young wine grower, based in the 1st growth area of the montain of Reims. These wines are mainly blended with Pinot Meunier and many reserve wines, producing a clean, structured but fruity profile with lasting minerality

« My family has been in Champagne for many generations, living at Irval. We are happy to present our history, and our passion through our Champagne Croix d’Irval. This name brings together my roots and history as a large cross stands at the top of a roof at Irval, linked to the crusades during the 14th century. Now, this powerful cross represents our ‘savoir-faire’ and our values, fashioned by time, by the understanding of the nature around us and by high quality requirements. »

A Premier Cru Champagne ; This prestigious appellation, reserved to 44 villages of the 312 in champagne, reflects the high quality of the soil and terroir of our area. This historical denomination still in place, is a guarantee of quality and of constant taste.

A harmonious blend ; Three grapes varieties are used in our blend, with a dominance of Pinot Meunier, distinctive of the Montagne de Reims. It brings to our wine a mature nose with a silky side. The Chardonnay provides softness and lightness to the wine, and the Pinot noir gives body and intensity. This Champagne is generous, its delicate bubble is never intrusive, the palate is fruity, delicate, with a great persistence. It features all you can expect from a great Premier Cru.

A quest for quality ; Each phase of the elaboration of our Champagne is accurately timed. Sustainable wine growing is applied ; The harvest is done manually ; The grapes are pressed in a traditional 4000kg press which allows a better control by splitting the must. Aging on lees before the blending is set up for 4 to 6 months, giving the wine an intense structure. Bottles wait at least 3 years on lees before the disgorging.

History of the Estate:
 Domaine du Colombier has been established for four generations. As it is located on one of the highest hills of our city, it used to be the ideal place to be for pigeons and doves ; they used to stay in a beautiful dovecote, until this building was destroyed. Nowadays, pigeons and turtledoves stay still here, and use our cellar roofs to nest.
 The cellar was build in 19th century. It used to be divided in two parts, one as a real cellar and  one as a stable. Since 80ies, the whole building has become a vinification and storage cellar.
 Our vineyard is divided in two parts located 8 kilometer far away from each other. Both have wines older than 50 years, with several soils and maturity.
 In late 1996, Jean-Yves Bretaudeau succeeded his father who retailed.
 Domaine du Colombier is certified High Environmental Value since 2015.
This certification is a voluntary approach which aims to identify and promote particularly environmentally-friendly practices applied by farmers.
HEV covers four key areas: biodiversity conservation, plant protection strategy, management of fertiliser use and management of water
 Our estate has also been approving Vignerons Independants de France Chart
for 25 years.
 Combining innovation and tradition in our cellar is our passion.
 We have a strong willing to provide pleasure to our customers ; our
winegrower work enables us to enjoy conviviality and gastronomy.

Two different soils in our vineyard :
 Light and pebbly soils (gneiss, gabbro) : early maturity, fruity wines
 Clayey soils : later maturity, wines more influenced by terroir, long lenght on the palate.

Domaine de Chevilly, Quincy

OUR DOMAINE

Our 11.30 hectares family estate is managed by Antoine and Yves Lestourgie, who were joined in 2009 by Yves’ wife, Geraldine.
We began in 1994 with 1.5 ha, and have steadily increased our planting to reach Quincy regulations, we grow only Sauvignon Blanc.
Quincy was the first of the Centre-Loire vineyards to obtain the Appellation d'Origine Contrôlée (AOC) status in August 1936.
The 2014 production amounted to 96,500 bottles.

Our terroir, which is mainly sandy with a few patches of clay, is ideal for this varietal, which thrives on soil that can warm rapidly and thus bring about early ripening.

We practice ‘cultural raisonnée’ which meanthat we only intervene when absolutely necessary and we fully respect our environment.

To get the best from our terroir, we work the soil and grow grass down the rows, so as to reduce the vigour of the vines.

Our pruning is carried out with two objectives in mind:
- to extend the life of the plant
- to limit production in order to guarantee  quality
With the same goal in mind, but depending on the circumstances of the year, we are practicing the de-budding and/or the removing green bunches of grapes as well as the thinning out of the leaves to prevent diseases and to encourage ripening.

We use the most modern techniques and equipment in our winery:
- Reception tank, sorting table and conveyor belt to the
- Pneumatic press
- Stainless steel temperature controlled tanks
- Diatomaceous filtration
We bottle both in 75cl and 37.5cl, and we offer a choice of stopper types: cork, synthetic and screw-cap.

A fully-trained oenologist helps us to obtain the best from the harvest: our goal is to reflect the fruit and the terroir in our wine.
To sum up, we have two over-riding priorities:
- To produce the best expression of Sauvignon that our terroir can offer
- To respect the environment so as to protect our terroir

 In 1986 Armelle and Jean-Marie Huré settled on a 30 acres vineyard. Today it has achieved 83 acres.  In 2001 a part of the buildings was converted into a wine storehouse for barrels and a tasting room while the other part was fitted as cottage with a swimming pool  for 12 people.

 In this calm and restful setting you will be able to discover the methods of the winegrowing preparation and the methods of the working of the wine. You will also be able to taste the wine.

Domaine de Coyeux, Beaumes de Venise, Muscat de Beaumes de Venise

The origin of the vineyards of Beaumes-de-Venise is very old; the history of its wines can be traced back to 600 years before Christ, when a Greek community moved into the foothills of the Dentelles de Montmirail.
The first vines from the Domaine de Coyeux date back to the 1950s.
The estate was taken over in 2013 by Hugues de Feraudy, whose family was already established in Vaucluse in the tenth century.

Located on the southern side of the Dentelles de Montmirail, the Domaine de Coyeux is comprised of one continuous area of 112 hectares.

—The estate combines:
✓ Very well-known Trias soil types characterized by pores filled with clay which capture the winter water from the soil that when released in the summer will nourish the root system of the vines, thus leaving grape berries that thirst for the sun.

✓ Planted in an ideal location, the mountains of Coyeux (altitude 300m) provide air currents which bring freshness in the summer, contributing to healthy grapes and delicate aromatic wines.

✓ A climate dominated by the famous mistral winds.
Coming from the north, this wind occurs only a few hours after a rainfall, leaving time for the vines to absorb its benefits while minimizing the risks of the proliferation of parasites by rapidly drying the foliage.

A good wine is made in the vineyard!
A good vineyard is based on simple ideas:
✓ Healthy soil, modified only by respectful contributions to the environment.

✓ Grape varieties adapted to the soil and Mediterranean climate:
• for white wines, Muscat petit grain,
• for red wines, Grenache, Syrah and Mourvèdre.

✓ Vines with excess buds and leaves removed in the spring to aerate the strains and increase the leaf’s surface area exposed to the sun.
Disbudding reduces grape production and improves the concentration of aromas.

✓ Living soils, where microbial life creates organic soil enrichment through its regular twisted paths.

✓ Healthy natural conditions (altitude, exposure, and climate) allow for gentle methods necessary to the agriculture to maintain the vineyard’s perfect health.

La Grappe de Montpellier, "F I G A N I S", Anise distilled with figs

ORIGIN
Alcohols from grape marcs from a selection of Languedoc-Roussillon
terroirs and grape varieties. Re-distillation with green anise and
fennel, macerated figs and the distillates of Mediterranean plants.
DISTILLATION
By means of five successive columns, the alcohol is extracted from the grape marcs, then concentrated and rectified so as to remove all trace methanol and impurities.
Dried figs are macerated for a long time in a vinous base, wich gives a typical aromatic taste and fruit sugar. Fennel and green anise are redistilled in our alcohol so as to obtain a quality anethol that retains the delicious aromas, quite distinct from industrial star anise.

Distillates of Mediterranean plants complete the aromatic balance of this ultra-premium anise.

TASTING
This ultra-premium product based on superfine alcohol has immense
aromatic subtlety. It has a lovely straw-coloured tint that takes on abeautiful white shade on contact with water.
Taste it in a balloon glass in which you put a few ice-cubes, one part Figanis to two parts water, and two olives on a cocktail stick.
