The freshest experience of this grape variety. A Jumilla wine, among other awards, has managed to attract the attention of one of the Masters of Wine, Tim Atkin, who chose this wine among the 100 best wines of Spain in the Wines from Spain Awards.
Indeed, everything arrives ... We present the 2016 vintage of Macho Man Monastrell:
Coming from 13 plots of vineyards of Monastrell of Paraje de La Raja (where the winery is located) between the mountain ranges of El Carche and La Pila. Vineyards with ages between 20 and 70 years and with a manual harvesting for optimum stretches of maturity, in boxes of 15 kg.
The grape arrives at the cellar in a refrigerated truck in few minutes to go through a double selection table at its entrance. The fermentation takes place in inverse truncated cone deposits of 7,000 liters. Aging for 5 months in first-year French oak barrels, Saury, Seguin Moreau, Saint Martin and ANA.
Macho Man Monastrell is the pure reflection of the terroir from which it comes, with aromas of red fruits (plum, cherry), rosemary, thyme, balsamic, menthol. Long, fresh, elegant, earthy, unique.
The team of Casa Rojo has developed nine great wines in nine denominations of origin of Spain, aiming to show the best of each Spanish land: La Marimorena in Rias Baixas, Ladrón in Bierzo, The Orange Republic in Valdeorras, el Gordo del Circo in Rueda, The Invisible Man in Rioja Alta, Alexander Vs The Ham Factory in Ribera del Duero, Maquinon in Priorato, Moltó Negre in Villafranca del Penedés and Macho Man Monastrell in Jumilla. Our obsession: to create the perfect wine that expresses the authentic terroir of the wines with character and structure.
