Cooper's Cider

The Kelterei Heil has expanded its cider product range: "Cooper's Original" is now available in a 0,5 l tin and also as an organic cider in the 0,33 l relief-ornamented glass bottle. The glass bottles (1 l and 0.33 l) present themselves in a new label design. Completely new on the market are the Cooper's varieties "Red", "Black", "Cloudy" in the 0,33 l relief-ornamented glass bottle. They are a mix of cider and cherry, cider and cola, and a naturally cloudy cider with a hint of lemon.
The apples for Cooper’s cider are thoroughly chosen, carefully pressed and slowly fermented. A slower fermentation process is, beside the quality of the apples, very important for the special character of the cider.

In the bottling process no preservatives are used at all. Instead, the cider is preserved by a careful pasteurization in the bottle.

The roots of the Kelterei Heil can be found in a pub in the village of Laubus-Eschbach. After the war, when no beer or other drinks were available to sell in the pub, the Heil family revived an old tradition, i.e. they decided to produce their own cider. Grandpa Heil swapped a goat from the family farm for an apple press.

Since then, the Kelterei Heil has become one of the most important producers of ciders and fruit juices in Hesse. In contrast to the early days, when only apple wine and apple juice was produced, the current product range comprises more than 60 different products.

Several of these products have received prizes and medals. Moreover the Kelterei Heil was the first cider producer in Hesse with an IFS-certification.

For many years, the company has welcomed hundreds of visitor groups and staged its own events in which thousands of people have participated. Every year, the Kelterei Heil sells apple-trees, resulting in 44.000 trees that have been planted so far.
