DOMENiiLE FRANCO-ROMANE (Ch. Pietrosaratii SRL)
In early 90' Denis Thomas, winegrower from Bourgogne, succumbed to the charme of a Romanian vineyard in the Dealu Mare area, at the famous 45 parallel, where he immediatly recognized a "Petite Bourgogne" in the potential of its soils and climat to produce a quality well- made PINOT NOIR and CHARDONNAY. He create then a DOMENiiLE FRANCO-ROMANE, the estate of 70Ha.
The Domain has adopted the ORGANIC approach with all respect to our soils and environment and as a result we get helthier and better wine wich brings a pleasure to your glass.
Due to Organic approach and "savoir faire à la française" our wine is an alliance of character, elegance and harmonie.
We produce Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Riesling, Sauvignion Blanc, Feteasca Neagra, Tamaioasa Romaneasca.

The vines of the estate are situated on the gentle hillslopes of Istrita in the middle of the DEALU MARE vineyard (which in romanian means the Great Hill) in the village of Breaza. This vineyard is adapted for red grape varieties, except for the area of Sahateni in Pietroasele. Indeed because of the variety of soils, some parcels are adapted for white grape varieties and others for red grape varieties.
The relief is rather fragmented with gentle slopes, situated at various altitudes, and numerous valleys. The height which demarcates vinegrowing areas varies from 125 meters high in the plain to 250 meters high on the slopes. The slopes are for the majority gentle and vary between 5% and 20%.
