Composition:     100% Shiraz
Vintage:     2015,  DOC-CMD Murfatlar
Vineyard: The vineyards at Murfatlar are situated on the sunny shores of the Black Sea in Eastern Romania. 
Climate / Quality of the soil: The climate is continental, with average annual sunlight of 2200 hours, average annual temperature between 9.5-10.5°C and the average rainfall of 500-600 mm.
The lithologic substratum is made of gravel, sand and clay with a layer of loess.
Winemaking process:
Hand harvesting
Gentle de-stemming
Cooling of the must at 12°C
Short cold maceration in order to get a vibrant, nice pink colour
Controlled fermentation at  15°C during 12 days
Bottling and labelling
Wine composition: Alcohol: 13 %; Total acidity: 5.85 g/L; Reducing sugar: 4.36 g/L
Winemaker comments: Shiraz grapes have been processed in accordance with the white grapes technology, resulted a rosé salmon wine, with fresh and delicate aromas of raspberry, grapefruit and strawberries; long lasting flavours of red fruits, a good structure and a balanced acidity.
Food matches:This rosé is a perfect summer wine, excellent on its own, which can also be served with salads, fish and chicken dishes.
Drinking temperature: Best served between 8-10°C

Tasting notes: This complex, full bodied Romanian Cabernet Sauvignon captures the terroir of our Adrian Vineyard from the Dealu Mare region. Deep ruby red in colour, it has a good balance of rich dark fruit flavours combined with oak, mint and cinnamon. Careful ageing for 36 months in new French oak barriques has resulted in soft tannins and well integrated structure. Ready to drink now, but will continue to improve after 3-5 years of cellaring.

Food pairing: An ideal accompaniment to grilled lamb with herbs, roast beef or mature cheeses.

Feteasca Neagra, one of the oldest and certainly most valuable Romanian grape varieties, has found its true expression in the sunny slopes of Dealu mare. Cramele Halewood have contributed in a significant way to the renaissance of this ancient variety, through making it central to their vineyards and their wine ranges.
The excellent climate conditions of 2012 vintage and careful maturation in new American oak barrels offer this special varietal areal taste that is complex and memorable.
