2014 Hyland Vineyard Pinot Noir

Nestled in the foothills of the Oregon Coast Range, in the McMinnville AVA, the historic Hyland Vineyard has continually produced some of the best quality fruit in Oregon. Our relationship with this well-respected grower goes back several decades and we are excited and proud to produce a limited-production pinot noir sourced 100% from Hyland Vineyard.

100% barrel-aged in French oak for 10 months. This elegant, balanced wine exudes flavors of ripe raspberry, fresh fig, brown sugar and hints of spice.

93 Points, James Suckling

2015 Dundee Hills Pinot Blanc

The grapes for our Dundee Hills Pinot Blanc are carefully hand harvested and hand sorted at the winery. These grapes were not de-stemmed or crushed, but pressed as whole clusters to limit the amount of skin contact. We ferment our pinot blanc in stainless steel before transfering it to neutral oak barrels for nine months. The oak barrels allow for the wine to be in contact with small amounts of oxygen which is beneficial for the evolution during aging. However, aging in neutral oak means the wine will not take on the spices of barrel toast found in new oak. This wine has delicate stone fruit characters to balance with the minerality.

2013 Sparkling Rosé of Pinot Noir

This pale pink sparkling rosé captures the fine points of an Oregon-grown pinot noir - delicate, elegant and with finesse. The bubbles (or mousse) are fine and lively, as a reflection of quality and care put into this small production, hand crafted sparkling wine.

The base is 100% pinot noir from the vineyard site Blossom Ridge in the Van Duzer Corridor. This corridor receives a gentle cooling breeze that slows the ripening of the grapes and helps to naturally retain the bright acidity we need to make top quality sparkling base. We ferment half of the base in stainless steel for the retention of bright pure fruit characters, minerality and austere dimensions we get from this Blossom Ridge fruit. The other half of the base is fermented in neutral oak to get more depth and roundness in the base while still retaining the delicate fruit characters by utilizing neutral oak. Both components are aged for 6 months in neutral oak and then blended for tirage and bottling in April the following year.

About us

Company details

Greetings!

When our parents Bill Blosser and Susan Sokol Blosser planted their first vines in 1971, they needed all of their youthful self-confidence, energy and determination to make their way because there was no wine industry in Oregon. Today, with over 500 wineries and more than 19,000 acres of vineyards, Oregon wines are available throughout the world. Sokol Blosser has survived, grown and prospered as a family-owned and run operation, and we are proud to have been part of developing and shaping Oregon's now prominent wine industry.

We strive to create wines of world class quality that are produced sustainably, mindful of the environment, and that express the distinctive flavors of our hillside vineyards. Sokol Blosser wines reflect who we are - our values and our sense of place. We hope you enjoy them.
