12 e mezzo Rosato del Salento Igp

100% Negroamaro del Salento IGP

ALCOHOL 12,5% vol.

PRODUCTION  Short cryo-maceration of the skin through soft press and cleaning of the must by sediment’s flotation with nitrogen. Thermo-controlled fermentation at 15°C, interrupted at 12,5% vol. by cold and tangential filtration. Refinement in stainless steel with periodic suspension of lees through injection of carbon dioxide.

COLOUR Rosato. Rosé. Pleasant, elegant and slightly sparkling wine.

BOUQUET  On the nose, fresh fruit harmoniously meet white flowers aromas.

TASTE On the palate, it shows up with liveliness.

ALCOHOL 14,5% vol.

PRODUCTION thermo-controlled maceration at 26°C with further maceration of marcs after alcoholic fermentation. Refinement in big barrels for about 18 months, followed by a further refinement in stainless steel for 9 months.

COLOUR Intense red wine with garnet hints.

BOUQUET Notes of mature red berries, dried figs, black cherries preserved in alcohol and vanilla aromas.

TASTE On the palate it is structured, smooth and elegant with a fruity flavour mitigated by sweet and aromatic notes of cloves and black pepper.

TASTE On the palate, it is lively and balanced. This is a fresh and harmonious wine, with a delicate flavour.

This company focuses its attention on the variety of local wines, such as: Primitivo, Negroamaro, Malvasia and Aglianico from red grapes and Verdeca, Falanghina, Malvasia and Fiano from white grapes. Furthermore, relating to the international vine varieties, this winery vinifies Chardonnay according to the Salentine territory peculiarities. Varvaglione 1921 is one of the oldest and most awarded Southern Italian wineries. In 2011 it celebrated its 90th birthday by launching a prestigious wine called “Papale”. Currently, Varvaglione 1921 is present in over 40 countries throughout the world and its wine production is based on more than 120 hectares of plots reserved to the cultivation of wines branded Varvaglione 1921. This Salentine winery grows a cultivation area of more than 1.500 hectares, thanks to the cooperation of local farmers that have been affiliated to Vigne & Vini for over 30 years. In terms of quality, research and development, Varvaglione 1921 is regularly monitored by the University of Udine and the University of Bologna once a month.
