Maloney’s Irish Country Cream

Maloney’s Irish Country Cream is a smooth blend of rich Irish dairy cream, chocolate and vanilla flavours, wine and Irish spirits and has a low alcohol strength of less than 15% by volume.

Because Maloney’s has a low alcohol strength and as it includes fermented alcohol in its ingredients, it can, in many markets, be sold in wine and beer stores where higher strength spirits are not available.

Its smooth texture is derived from the quality of the pure and fresh Irish dairy cream that we use at Terra which we source locally from the surrounding dairylands.

Maloney’s Irish Country Cream is a winner of many accolades including a Gold Medal from the prestigious Blas Na hEireann Irish Food and Drinks Awards.

This award winning product delivers a delicious tasting low alcohol cream based drink at an exceptional price and is enjoyed in markets as far as far East as Russia and as far West as the USA.

Maloney’s is best consumed over ice, chilled or in coffee or mixed with your favourite spirit and as it contains fresh cream, it is not advisable to mix with citric based drinks.

We recommend that once opened, the product should be consumed within 3 months for optimal taste experience and that it should be stored away from temperature extremes and direct sunlight.

Cu Chulainn Irish Whiskey

Cu Chulainn is our premium Irish Whiskey which is an original blend of the finest grain and malted barley. Pronounced ‘’Coo Cullen’’, this brand is a truly traditional Irish which is named after Ireland’s greatest mythological warrior who means as much in Ireland’s history to Irishmen and women as does Hercules to Greeks and Genghis Khan to Mongolians.

Blended and Bottled in small batches by the Cu Chulainn Irish Whiskey Company, a subsidiary of the family owned Terra Ltd, this golden amber coloured Irish Whiskey can be best described as smooth in mouthfeel and easy drinking with background notes of nut, spice, smoke and honey.

Cu Chulainn - The Legend:
Legend has it that circa 1BC, Setanta, the son of the Celtic God of Light “Lugh” was born.

As a young boy, Setanta, who possessed superhuman characteristics, killed the fierce hound guarding the Blacksmith Chulainn’s home in self defense. Feeling remorseful, he took on the role of the hound until a suitable replacement could be found. In doing so, he became forever known as Cu Chulainn meaning “the Hound of Cullen”.

In later years, as a young warrior, he heroically defended Ulster in a war known as the “Cattle raid of Cooley” where, he conquered the opposing army by invoking the right of single combat and defeating warrior after warrior in one on one contests that continued for months.  It is on these same grounds of Ulster that this finest Irish Whiskey is blended and bottled following maturation in American Oak bourbon casks.

The result is this exceptionally smooth Irish Whiskey which is full of character, reflecting the legend that is Cu Chulainn.

Enjoy Ch Chulainn Irish Whiskey on Ice, with your favourite mixer, in coffee or straight up with a dash of spring water which truly releases the flavours……

Our History and Irish Cream Liqueurs
Terra's involvement in the production and marketing of Irish Cream Liqueurs goes back to the 1970's and the development of cream liqueurs. While the production of whiskey and dairy products goes back almost to the dawn of civilisation in Ireland, the creation of the first Irish cream liqueur had to wait until 1974 when a group of highly enterprising innovators managed for the first time to blend fresh Irish cream with Irish whiskey in a stable product.

Terra's founder and several of its team had the benefit of working with people who were part of this quiet revolution in the international drinks industry and Terra itself is situated in County Cavan which is the original and still renowned dairy source for Irish Cream liqueurs.

Within a few years of the creation of cream liqueurs, the R&J Emmet Company was established and by 1990 it had become the second largest cream liqueur producer worldwide. This led to the market leader buying the company and its brands in the early 1990's.

Terra and the 1990's
In 1995, Patsy Mckevitt, the then General Manager of the Emmet's plant, formed Terra and bought out the facility from the market leaders whilst securing a contract to produce a range of cream liqueurs for them and provide an R&D facility for new product development.

In 2003, Terra took the opportunity of the expiry of that exclusivity agreement to build its own Irish cream liqueur brands, including Mollys Irish Cream, and to provide a range of innovative contract manufacturing and bottling services for spirits and private label Irish Cream Liqueurs. Our products can today be enjoyed by consumers in more than 60 countries around the world.

Terra today
Whilst the majority of Terra's business is in the specialist area of cream liqueurs, we also produce and bottle a range of non-cream based spirits and liqueurs for 3rd party customers. Today, Terra proudly supplies a contract manufacturing and bottling service to some of the largest retailers and alcoholic beverage companies worldwide.

Terra has delivered consistent double digit growth for more than a decade and this is forecast to continue as we grow our business in new and existing markets. This growth is firmly based on the quality of the company's Irish cream liqueur products which only use locally sourced fresh Irish dairy cream from grass fed cows which is blended with the alcohol in a wholly natural way and without the use of preservatives.

Born out of a long established history in cream liqueur technology, we pride ourselves in the expertise and blending process we employ in making Terra what we believe is the best in the business at what we do.
