About us

Company details

Il BOTOLO Azienda Agricola: 13 hectares of vineyards located on the hills of Monferrato, in the heart of Piedmont, one of Italy’s most famous wine producing regions.

The Estate was founded by Roberto de Silva, who combined his love of Monferrato, its history, its culture and its infinite rolling hills, and his dream and passion to create high quality wines. Today Il BOTOLO produces wines from the best vines in the Piedmont terroir: Barbera, Moscato, Chardonnay, Dolcetto, Brachetto and Cortese.

Each year a total of 100 tons of grapes are harvested, with a production capacity of about 100,000 bottles. The Estate’s wines are made with meticulous attention to detail and with love from vines planted on sunny slopes with an ideal exposure suitable for growing premium grapes which results in white wines with a delightful variety of fruit flavors and rich, elegant and velvety red wines.

The Estate favors eco-compatible agriculture in order to protect the environment and the territory.

Today the family tradition continues thanks to the dedication and love of Roberto de Silva’s wife, Diana de Silva, in her commitment to produce fine products that valorize the Piedmont region. Expert agronomist Piero Roseo and enologist Lamberto Vallarino Gancia, with a long history of wine making, bring their expertise to the Estate to ensure continued quality.
