Carbonic Maceration

These wines are prepared using the Carbonic Maceration method (the grape bunch is inserted whole into the tank without separating the fruit from the stems or stalks). Fermentation takes place at a controlled temperature of 32 degrees, and the fermentation is halted 5 days later to proceed to pressing. The outgoing fluid and the must in the tank are then fermented again at 22 degrees Celsius. One of the most important secrets of this type of wine is the use of bunches with a perfect shape, size and colour to bring out full fruitiness and the highest embodiment of the blend of Tempranillo grape and its stem.

  • Serving suggestion: perfect for everyday wine. In addition, its recommended cool serving temperature (11-12º C) makes it an appropriate red wine to drink even on hot summer days.
  • Harvest: hand-picked.
  • Age of vineyards: 15 to 20 years.
  • Soil type: chalky clay.
  • Grape Varieties: 90% Tempranillo, 5% Garnacha, 5% Viura.
  • Alcohol: 13%.
  • Colour: ruby red, clean and bright.
  • Nose: intensely aromatic fragrance. Pervading red fruit aromas (including red currant, blackberry, strawberry), and liquorice; very typical of our Tempranillo variety. A red jellybean scent is distinguished as a result of carbonic maceration.
  • Palate: mouth-filling, fresh, and highly enjoyable. The finish is distinguished for its lingering and persistent aftertaste, with a distinct red fruit and liquorice flavour.
  • Production: 115,000 bottles.
  • Packaging: in cardboard boxes containing 12 bottles.

The grapes are produced at a range of vineyard plots property of the winery that are the home to a strongly-selective viticulture, controlled exclusively by the Bodegas Luis Alegre Technical Team, that is very demanding about fruit quality. The use of the Tempranillo grape variety and wine ageing in rigorously-selected new and semi-new American and European oak casks, furnish this Crianza with a full-bodied palate, and a pleasant delicacy and gentleness at the same time.

White Selection of European Oaks

This wine is produced at a single plot, which is 85 years old, with an altitude of 650 metres, and a very limited yield, and this allows us to produce one of the most charismatic whites within our Denomination of Origin, given that these white grapes are also carefully sorted at our Selection Table. It ferments for about 6 months at a temperature up to 20 degrees Celsius which is controlled in each oak cask, with a cooling system that allows us to “work” each cask separately. Very limited production of 15-20 casks per year.

  • Serving suggestion: given its ageing in casks it is suited to accompany white meat, all kinds of rice, and light and fatty fish.
  • Harvest: hand-picked.
  • Age of vineyards: 85 years.
  • Soil type: chalky clay.
  • Cask type: 100% new French, Hungarian and Croatian.
  • Grape varieties: 90% Malvasia, 10% Viura.
  • Alcohol: 13%.
  • Colour: clean and bright. Straw-like with greenish iridescence on the meniscus.
  • Nose: at glass stop, citrus notes come forth together with sweet nuances of ripe yellow fruit, blended with hints of vanilla. When turning the glass, tropical fruit nuances are appreciated (Pineapple, Peach, Apricot), with a background of pastry and roast-scented notes, which are both fine and elegant.
  • Palate: it emerges as stylish and fresh, with a remarkable smoothness. A great balance between fruit, acidity and alcohol has been attained. Long aftertaste distinguished by thin roast-scented notes.
  • Production: 8,000 bottles.
  • Presentation: in cardboard boxes containing 6 bottles.
