I.G.T.  VIOGNIER  TOSCANA                                  

Grape variety 100% Viognier with a production of 7/8.000 kg per hectar.

A limited production of 4.000 bottles.

Grapes are exclusively hand-harvested at the end of August.

Organoleptic characteristics
The color is straw yellow with golden glints. The fragrance is intense and fruity with floreal notes. The taste is soft, well-balanced with a note of acidity that enhance its equilibrium. Its aromatic and structural complexity, given by its long fining in french oak barriques, favour improvement and maturation over time.

Il Cucchetto


Chucchetto represents the finest selection of  Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot vines varieties of the farm.
Grape variety 85% Cabernet Sauvignon, 15% Petit Verdot with a production of 7.000 kg per hectar.
With a limited production of 6.000 bottles.

The must is left to mature for ten days with frequent pump-overs to obtain the best color and fragrance extraction. Malolactic fermentation takes place in new oak French barriques where the wine is left in concact with its lees for approx 18 months before being blended and bottled. Further fining takes places in the bottle for 4 months.

Organoleptic characteristics
The color is intense, with purplish glints. The fragrance is fruity, complex, with notes of spices and small ripe red fruits. The flavor reflects the same notes of the fragrance combined with softness, fullness, balance and persistence.

Grape variety 85% Vermentino  15% di Viognier with a production of 8.000 kg per hectar.
Production 35.000/40.000 bottles.
The grapes are hand-harvested and vinified separately.
The pneumatic crushing is very gentle and the must obtained is cooled and carefully decanted.

Fermentation takes place in thermo-conditioned stainless steel vats with selected yeasts at a temperature of 14 C°. Once fermentation is completed the wine is left contact with its lees for a few months up to a few days before the Vermentino is blended with the Viognier and then bottled.

Organoleptic characteristics
The colour is straw yellow with greenish glints, the fragrance is intense and fruity with floral notes, the taste is full, well structured with good balance between acidity and softness.

Fattoria Il Casalone is located along the coastal area of Maremma in Tuscany, upstream from the Easter lagoon of Orbetello (GR).

A territory subject to environmental protection which gives the wine special characters and perfumes. On this land the cultivation of the vine backs to ancient times and already the Cadastre Leopoldino in the early 1800 indicated the Vineyard Colombi, hence the name of the wine.

We are vine growers since 1960 and since then we have worked to understand and constantly improve this precious union between man-made and the best that nature has to offer, through out our wines, which, according to the reviews over the years, increase and confirm their quality.
